எப்படிப்பட்ட கதையாக இருந்தாலும் கதையின் கருவை உள் வாங்கி கொண்டு,கதைக்கு பொருந்தி, அதற்கேற்றாற்போல் தம்மை மெருகேற்றி நடிக்க கூடியவர்தான் கதையின் நாயகன் ! ஆனால் இன்று கதா நாயகன் வெறும் நாயகனாக மட்டுமே நமக்கு தோற்றமளிக்கிறார். அன்றைய காலத்தில் நடிகர் திலகம் திரு .சிவாஜி அவர்கள் கதைக்காக மட்டுமே நடித்தார். அவர் அவ்வாறு நடிக்கவில்லை எனில் ஒரு வீரபாண்டிய கட்டபோம்மனையோ, கப்பலோட்டிய தமிழனயோ , கர்ணனயோ நாம் அவர் உருவில் கண்டிருக்க முடியாது !
ரசிகர்களின் எதிர்பார்ப்பும் ,பொது மக்களின் எதிர்பார்ப்பும் !
என்னதான் மக்களுக்காக நடித்தாலும் ரசிகர்கள்தான் தியேட்டருக்கு முதல் நாளில் வந்து எங்களை வாழ்த்துகிறார்கள் ! படம் வெளியிடும் முதல் நாள் வேலையை விட்டு விட்டு விடிய விடிய உழைக்கிறார்கள் அதனால் அவர்களின் ரசனைக்குத்தான் படம் எடுக்க முடியும் என்று கூறலாம் ! ஒரு ரசிகன் எதனால் ஒரு நடிகருக்கு ரசிகராகிறான் ! அந்த நடிகரானவர் ஏதோ ஒரு வகையில் அந்த ரசிகனை ஈர்க்கிறார்! உடனே அந்த நடிகர் மீது பற்று உண்டாகிறது.அவ்வளவுதான் அடுத்து வரும் படங்களில் அந்த நடிகர் நடித்தாலும் சரி! இல்லை என்றாலும் சரி! ஆனால் ஒரு சாதாரண , நடுநிலையான ஒருவர் படத்தில் நடிகரின் நடிப்பையோ , அவர் செய்யும் சாகச காட்சிகளையோ மட்டும் விரும்புவதில்லை மாறாக படத்தின் அத்தனை அம்சங்களையும் விரும்புவார் ! பிடித்திருந்தால் நண்பர்கள் மற்றும் குடும்பத்தினருக்கு பரிந்துரை செய்வார்! இவ்வாறு பரிந்துரை செய்த படங்கள் தான் நூறு நாட்களுக்கு ஓடுகிறது!
கதைக்காக நடித்ததால்தான் சிவாஜிக்கு இன்றளவும் நமது தாத்தா ,பாட்டி கூட ரசிகர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள். மக்கள் அவருக்கு நடிகர் திலகம் என பட்டம் சூட்டினரே அன்றி யாரும் ரசிகர் திலகம் என்று பட்டம் கொடுக்கவில்லை! ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட ரசிகர் கூட்டத்துக்கு மட்டும் நடிப்பேன் என்று சொன்னால் அந்த நடிகரை மக்கள் மறக்கும் காலம் வெகு தொலைவில் இல்லை !

'Kai koduththa Deivam' is one of my favourite NT's top ten movies and I'd like somebody write a different view on it; Long and detailed one. Every scene has NT's subtle and screen stealing performance. I especially like the scene when he comes to see a bride to be and finds out she was the girl he met already. And of course the heart wrenching last scene. It is one of those movies where casting was fantastic and every one did their roles very perfectly.

I've been reading your previous detailed articles on NT (not yet finished the previous threads), which on reading them give me the same feeling of appreciation of certain scences that only last few seconds or so. She was not the right choice in movies like Padikkadha Medhai, Paavai Vilakku (sobbing throughout the movie), Paalum Pazhamum (to some extent OK, as she wins as a character who has to be hated by every one), Paar Magalae Paar (OK to some extent), Mahakavi Kalidoss. Pachai Vilakku is ok but had limited scope.
Mr. Gopal:- The versatility could be found in Pudhiya Paravai, Motor Sundaram Pillai and Uyarndha Manidhan. She was excellent in the scene following visit of NT's son to home, where she visits Manimala's home (unknowingly), the reaction she shows once she knows that they are motherless, is extraordinary. A very controlled (sobbing will be controlled here!) and dignified performance in indeed.

Sowkar's Pudhiya paravai- It fell on her lap.There were more capable takers at that point of time and she was lucky.

I agree, Iru malargailis an exceptional movie. KRV did an excellent job but I think not an inimitable one, in terms of acting only.
