Being sad and funny at the same time, the movie is statement against tyranny and yet stops short of being sententious. It works on many levels - as a story about a girl's longing for freedom, as a peek into the lives of ordinary Iranians and as a reminder of oppression in all its forms around us. A very big :notworthy: to Marjane Satrapi for adapting her graphic novel into a movie.
