Waheeda Rahman, the much talented and the beautiful yesteryear actress who scorched the silver screen in films like Pyasa and Guide will be honored with the inaugural Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on the 20th of November 2013 at Goa. The festival is scheduled to go on for ten days.

Ms Rahman will be given this award for her contribution to cinema and was selected by a five member jury. The award carries a citation, a certificate, a medal (silver peacock), a shawl and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh. It is said that Waheeda is playing an important role in Kamal’s Vishwaroopam-2. Behindwoods takes this opportunity to wish the actress many more such laurels.

Anban - we (alongwith Kamal) know he is a self-motivated voracious reader/scholar who relentlessly pursues excellence in his field (a la one Mr. SR Tendulkar) and also constantly updates himself with knowledge from as diverse fields as is humanly possible. Kamal uncle vandhu close family friend... family-nu kooda sollalaam... great. I thought Kamal and IR might be meeting in places like recording theaters, IR's office, Kamal's Office, etc. Felt happy that Kamal visits IR's home and bond with their family..
