yesterday, normal life was disrupted for several hours by two blockades. The Rameswaram Sethu Samrakshana Samithi, blocked roads at five major points. Traffic was diverted and office goers and students had a tough time yesterday. Poor conditions of the roads added woes.
The assembly march by Youth Congress turned violent. Police used water guns to dispense activists. Till 2 pm the roads were choked with vehicles.
Sree chithira Home for the Destitute and Infirm staged "DEVAGAYAKAN" a new dance drama. The practice began two months ago. The story is on the poet Jayadevan and his wife Padmavathy. The dance drama was intervened with Ashtapadi. There were no sponsors. The children themselves designed costumes.
yesterday the inmates of the menatal hospital oolampaara had a belated but delicious ona sadya. There are 320 males and 227 femles and three children as inmates.

ON the contrary, the finance minister and the home minister have said in the assembly that the chief secretary has followed the guidelines.

High Court stayed the conferring of Raja Ravi Varma Award to M F Hussien. Ravi Varma former former director of Reserve Bank and a member of Kochi Royal family filed a petition saying that M F H through works has insulted the Hindu Deities.

Four or five years back, I went to meet the Dhananjayans at Hotel Chaitram.
Santha entered the lift followed by Dhananjayan. When I stepped in the door closed. What a quick reflex! The Dhananjayans pushed the door which was about to strand me and I was thus rescued. I do not know whether the Dhananjayans remember this. However, I do-whenever I enter a lift.

recently a citizen has described his experiences in a hospital where his father underwent a thoracic surgery. pathetic.
The nature and attitude of some doctors and nurses are very bad indeed. They will not give proper answers.
How can one expect, especially these days when the parents wants their childen to become a doctors- snubbing their other areas of interests.
there is one more dimension. There are children who want to become doctors just because of the glamour of the porfession. Parents "buy" seats for them.
I am concerned about the future of the medical profession. Private hospitals are mushrooming. i am afriad. Now medical profession is no more a service. it has become a business.
