Yes. Stephen King's novel. Apparently King did not like the film and in fact Kubrick (the director) was given a Razzie award for that film. Sacrilege :twisted:

Thanks to Nerd's recommendation and an ex room-mate who found shining with a DVD print I watched the movie more than a year ago. The Shining is indeed a cult classic in terms of all aspects of film making. The kid's acting is too great. Lots of symbolisms throughout the movie. The movie may be slow paced but it sets into pace at the right time. Must watch.
