சினிமா என்பது கொஞ்சம் சர்வாதிகாரமானது. உன்னத தரம் கொண்ட சிவந்த மண் போன்ற படங்களுக்கும் , குப்பை படங்களுக்கும் அதே டிக்கெட் விலை(மற்ற பொருள்கள் எல்லாமே தரம் மற்றும் model சார்ந்து விலை வேறு படும்.). நம் நேர விரயம் சமமானது. நம்மை இருட்டறையில் அடைத்து பேச்சுரிமை-செயலுரிமை தடுக்க படுகிறது. consumer court போக முடியாது.

Not many are aware that the second 'film' of Ravichandran is 'Kali Kovil' (1964). He made a cameo appearance as a spectator in a confined crowd for the song 'Deiviyiar Iruvar Muruganukku' by Rajshri. His film which was produced by MS Viswanathan was also directed by Sreedhar and released after 'KathalikkaNeramillai'.Quote:

The second appearance was in the Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka Hall, Kuala Lumpur where he, along with his new wife Sheela, Gemini Ganesh, Rajshri, Suruli Rajan and a host of others appeared for a cultural and variety show. He even spoke Malay impromptu much to the delight of the Malaysian audience.
Malaysians were very proud of him but for reasons best known to himself he chose to be aloof from them. When his brother, Bairoji Narayanan died in the early 2000s Ravichandran was conspicuously absent for the funeral. Bairoji Narayanan was a veteran radio and television broadcaster and dramatist and was very popular in Malaysia.
Malaysians were touched when he reminisced about his you her days in Kuala Lumpur on the Koffee with Anu programme just before he died.
In this week's Kumudham, his wife Vimala recalled an interesting incident when shown a rare photograph of some film veterans sitting with her late husband. She was taken to the studio for the shooting of the film 'Andru Kanda Mugam' by her husband after their wedding. The heroine was Jayalalitha. A cameraman seeing the newly-married couple penned a short verse and showed it to Kaviarasar Kannadhasan. Without any ego Kannadhasan was delighted and said that he will complete it as a song for this film. That song is 'Kan Padaithaan Unnaipol Kaanbatharkku'.
She also recalled that at the wedding reception producers like TR Ramana gave cash advances as gift tokens for their new film projects like Kumari Penn, Andru Kanda Mugambigai etc. and booked her husband to play the leading roles. This is something unheard of!

There is no movie called andru kanda mugambigai. It is andru kanda mugam and it is not ramanna Film. Ramanna gave advance for Kumari pen.

Unlike Malaysia Vasudevan, Ravichandran was not seen in social functions in Malaysia since his foray into films. That was a sad fact. But that does not mean he distance himself from Malaysians. Need I say more about Ravichandran's allegiance to his country where he was bred? But the fact remained that he did away with the 'Malaysia' nomenclature prefixed to his name in 1965 itself.
Thank you Mr.Mahendra Raj. It depends on family tradition to carry the name of the native with their name. When I interracted with Ravi, he even mocked at attaching titles with the name. (Same Views as Ajith) This could be the reason. Keep contributing regularly to this thread. I have lot of Malaysian friends. I am comfortable with Bahasa Malay.

I still remember vividly the first show of 'Kaathalikka Neramillai' in Kuala Lumpur. As is the norm those days, the premier show will be a Saturday midnight screening for all new films. Kaathalikka Neramillai was shown likewise in the Coliseum theatre somewhere in the middle part of 1964. Ironically, the main cut-out of Ravichandran was not a still from this film. But an ordinary 'Kuala Lumpur Raman' look! Yes, it was a color cut-out of him wearing a turtle-necked pullover with spectacles (not sunglass) an natural hair. Underneath his cut-out were the boldly inscribed words 'A former student of St. Anthony's Secondary English School, Pudu Road, Kuala Lumpur'. He looked every inch like a Malaysian secondary school student in that cut-out. Perhaps it was a deliberate ploy by the local film distributors to relate him to the Malaysian audience.
Most of the patrons were youngsters from both sexes who were all eager to see their own kind on the big screen and that too in color which was a luxury then. Of course, the other curious feature was Director Sreedhar who had all along gave serious-type family melodramas and this is his first venture into a full-length comedy. The crowd cheered when Ravi's name appeared in the credits especially with the prefix 'Malaysia'. The crowd gave a thunderous clap when he made his first appearance. It went into a delirium when he mimed and danced for the song 'Viswanathan Velai Vendum'. When the film ended all the patrons came out laughing or smiling with full knowledge that their own kind from Malaysia has made it big in Kodambakkam. The scenario was similar when it was screened on normal days and it enjoyed a long run at this theatre. It was the same in other towns and in rural towns . Such long runs were mainly films of MGR and Shivaji prior to this.
Many male Indian babies born around the time of release of 'Kaathalikka Neramillai' were christened 'Ravichandran' or names having 'Ravi' or words to that effect. Such was the craze for Ravichandran at that point of time in Malaysia and Singapore.

ரவி கேட்க வேண்டுமா ,அழகுடன் தனி துவம் கொண்ட விசேஷ துள்ளலுடன் கொஞ்சம் கஷ்ட பட்டு கண்ணீரும் வடிப்பார்.
ஜாலி ரவி-பாலு திரு விழா இப்படம். மெல்லிசை மன்னர் கொஞ்சம் உழைத்து இன்னொரு முன்னாள் சகா வான மெல்லிசை மன்னர் நான் படத்தில் தந்த அளவு நல்ல out put கொடுத்திருந்தால் இந்த வண்ணபடத்தின் range எங்கேயோ போயிருக்கும். நடிகர்திலகத்தின் 150 அவது படத்தையே சொதப்பிய வல்லிசை மன்னருக்கு ,இந்த படம் எம்மாத்திரம்? ஆனாலும் வெள்ளி முத்துக்கள் பாட்டு superb .

மீண்டும் வாழ்வேன் பற்றிய தங்கள் கருத்துக்கள் அனைத்தையும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளலாம், ஒன்றைத் தவிர. இன்றைக்கும் மீண்டும் வாழ்வேன் படத்தை மக்களிடம் நினைவூட்டிக் கொண்டிருப்பது அப்படத்தின் பாடல்கள் தான். உன்னை நினைச்சா பாடலைப் பற்றி தங்களுக்கு ஒன்றும் தெரியவில்லை என்று தான் நினைக்க வேண்டும் போல உள்ளது. அந்தப் பாடலின் சூழ்நிலை, காரணம், எல்லாவற்றையும் அந்தப் பாட்டின் பின்னணி இசையில் தந்திருக்கிறார் மெல்லிசை மன்னர். அந்த பொம்மை ஒலிக்காகவே அவர் பட்ட கஷ்டங்கள் எழுதி மாளாது. சதன், முருகேசன் துணையுடன் மெல்லிசை மன்னர் அந்தக் காலத்தில் தந்திருந்த சிறப்பு சப்தங்களின் சிறப்பை, இன்றைக்கு எத்தனை sound effects கருவிகள் வந்தாலும் ஈடு செய்ய முடியாது. அதுவும் அந்த பொம்மை அந்த காலத்தில் மிக பிரபலமானது. காரணம் அந்த சப்தம் தான். இன்னும் சொல்லப் போனால், இந்த மீண்டும் வாழ்வேன் படம் ஹிட்டானதற்குப் பிறகு பல டீக்கடைகள் இரானி டீஸ்டால் என வரத் தொடங்கின. இன்றும் கூட சென்னையில் சில இடங்களில் அந்த இரானி டீ ஸ்டால் பெயர் இருப்பதைக் காணலாம்.
வெள்ளி முத்துக்கள் நடனமாடும் பாட்டுக்குப் பிறகு எஸ்.பி.பி.யின் புகழ் மேலும் உச்சத்தை அடைந்தது.

மீண்டும் வாழ்வேன் படத்துக்கு மெல்லிசை மன்னர் எம்.எஸ்.வி. கொடுத்திருந்த பாடல்கள் அவ்வளவு தரமானவை அல்ல என்ற உங்கள் கூற்றை ஒப்புக்கொள்கிறேன். இப்போதும் கூட தொலைக்காட்சிகளில் பாரதியின் நீச்சல் உடை கடற்கரைப்பாடல் பார்க்கும்போது அவ்வளவாக கவரவில்லை. பாரதியின் பொம்மை டான்ஸ் பாடலுக்கு மெல்லிசை மன்னர் ரொம்ப மெனக்கெட்டிருந்தார் என்பது உண்மை. ஆனால் படத்துக்கு வெளியே ஹிட் ஆகவில்லை. ஒரு 'சாந்தி நிலையம்' போல அமைந்திருக்க வேண்டிய பாடல்களை சொதப்பி விட்டார் என்பது உண்மை.

சவாலே சமாளி படத்தில் அவர் சொதப்பவில்லை. ஒரு கிராமப்படத்துக்கு இதற்கு மேல் எதிர்பார்க்க முடியாது. இருந்தும் இப்படத்தின் பாடலுக்காக பி.சுசீலா அவர்கள் தேசீய விருது பெற்றார். மற்ற கிராமப்படங்களான பட்டிக்காடா பட்டணமா, பொன்னூஞ்சல் படங்களுக்கு இதைவிட சிறப்பான பாடல்கள் கிடைத்தது உண்மை. அது அவ்வப்போது அமைவது.
