Bheema never told this, it was Yudishtra, v all know abt Yudishtra's dharma, he never lies, even after Krsihna tells him, he would refuse , in the battle field, he would say 'Aswathama the Elephant has died', but as soon as he finish saying Aswathama, Krishna will blow the Conch to distract Drona, so he will not hear the remainder of the words from Yudishtra, this is how Dronarcharya was cheated!Quote:

2. Bheema goes in front of Drona & shouts at him saying that he has killed Ashwathama ( but as he was a true warrior, he realised his shameful act & lowered his head in shame )
3. Drona didnt believe this version of Bheema
4. Drona seeks the version of Yudhiistira to reconfirm whether what Bheema said was true
5. Yudhishtira now tells A LIE THAT ASHWATHAMA HAS BEEN KILLED
The sanskrit wording here is :
ASHWATHAMA ATHAHA..... KUNJARAHA ( but in a mild tone )
Drona already upset , was not in a position mentally to hear any other news.
On hearing the words WHICH CAME OUT FROM YUDHISHTIRA , WHO OF ALL THE PERSONS , WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE FOLLOWER OF TRUTH AND DHARMA,
Drona believes his words & drops his arms & everything as by now he had lost all interest in life as for him Ashwathama was everything in life
To summarise the above :
IT WAS BHEEMA WHO FIRST WILL GO AND TELL DRONA THAT HE HAD KILLED ASHWATHAMA
AND HIS VERSION WAS CONFIRMED BY YUDHISTIRA WHEN DRONA CROSS CHECKS WITH HIM

...Not by Truth directly... since in case of Dilemma Truthful approach will be misleading, as was the case of Arjuna who refused to fight basing on Truth.
Then after Krishna's clarifications that REALITY must be the basis for decisions...and Not by Truth...Arjuna gets convinced and
...thus gets saved from ILLUSORY BELIEFS...unduly based on Truth in a Life-battle.
This is One of the Best examples on the Value of Reality over Truth..when the Wicked opponents try to exploit the Nobles and Righteous Stipulations to their Selfish interests...
...killing the Basic Law of ...Sathyam Eva Jayathe...
Under such circumstances... direct resorting to truthful means will not help. .. but a Tactful path through REALITY... which ultimately takes us towards the Goal of Truth i8n Life.
This Episode of TACT to defeat Drona ... goes thus...
When the Reality is such that Drona can be made to die only at his will after hearing his Son Aswathdhaama's death...Krishna gets an Elephant named as Aswaththaama and then asked Bheema to kill it. Accordingly Bheema hurls his Gadhaayudha and kills it.
Then Krishna asked Bheema to declare loudly that Aswathdhaama has died... so he does, but was NOT BELIEVED...by Drona.
Krishna asked Yudhishtra (Dharmaputhra) to repeat the same. But he hesistates, claiming it a Lie, which he will never utter.
"If You mention it as... an elephant... can it be called a Lie?"
Dharma agrees and declares aloud... as dictated by Krishna...
... "ASWATHDHAAMA HATHAHA...KUNJARAHA"... which means... Aswathdhaama died... Elephant"
But in REALITY... Krishna momentarily blows up his Victory Conch... synchronising with the utterance of the Word... KUNJARAHA(Elephant))... by Dharma.
Krishna's conch Sound level was so forceful that the utterance of Kunjaraha was not audible to Drona.
Drona believed since Dharmaputhra himself declares... it must be true... further confirmed by Krishna's victory conch sound, since Krishna too is Trustworthy.
When a mighty weapon bestowed to a Saadhu saint, with an intention to safeguard him...
...if misused by him for Robbery, Murder and such other worst Crimes....
The Police snatches the weapon from him by any and all means... which cannot be classified under illegal or unlawful.
One Killer... is killed by the King as a Punishment.
But the King should not be deemed as another KILLER at par with the Criminal...
...Other than a Protector of Law of Righteousness.... So is the case here.
