Vijay’s Thuppakki is completing 100 days at the Tamil Nadu box-office tomorrow, February 20th. Directed by A.R.Murugadoss, this movie featured Vijay as a dashing army man who returns to Mumbai to rid the city of sleeper terrorist cells. The movie released for Diwali and easily managed to trump all competition and emerged as the sole winner.
Kalaj Aggarwal was also a part of this commercial extravaganza which had foot-tapping music by Harris Jayaraj and expert camerawork by Santosh Sivan.

Thuppakki faced lot of problems with its title; finally the patience and persistence paved the way for the victory. Any film these days should promote their content and Thanu set an example for that. Yes the first trailer of Thuppakki was telecasted in Star Vijay Super Singer which garnered a record TRP. The film got a perfect mix of mass and class, thanks to the scintillating script writer AR Murugadoss. When young generation heroes were trying to prove their hands in mass masala formula Vijay smartly adopted the classy realistic action approach.
Santhosh Sivan's crystal clear cinematography in real raw location of Mumbai was terrific and similarly Sreekar Prasad's crisp cuts, Harris Jeyaraj's peppy tunes also paved the way for Success. Though Thuppakki is not a cult classic but on the commercial front it opened a new gate for Tamil films.
The Hindi version is tentatively titled as Pistol.
