The song from "Poo parikka varugirom" is a cool, breezy pre Dhool/Gilli/Tirumalai VS number . With a tinge of "Manirangu", Iam sure Srinivas got inspired by this one for his "naanaaga naan illai" of "hey nee romba azhaga..." film.

Mano also sang for sivaji in few other film :) eg. Dhambathyam
IMO, the best suited voice for sivaji after TMS is MV.
We of course have to agree. Who knows better about "Mano" than you? :D
RR
actually, the song is 'adhikaalaiyil kuyil koovuthu', MD. Manoj Giyan. I can't recollect the details of the movie.
Sivaji's Portions in Mannavaru Chinnavaru were reshot, I think. konji pEsu konja nEram kuLira koodum kOdai kaalam is a nice song with Arjun and Soundharya.
Pick #183
http://tfmpage.com/stream/songs/engirundho_ev.rm
Song: engirundho vandhaan
Film: engirundho vandhaan
Singer: SPB
Lyrics: vaali
Music: Viswanathan Ramamurthy
The 2 legends of TFM joined forces again for this so so tamil adaptation of a hit Mohanlal malayalam film(chithram?).
The songs were not ground breaking but they were definitely soul pleasing.
Todays pick is a perfect example.
According to old TFMer Geetha this song is based on a rare raaga 'GAANA HEMAVATHI', which according to her, is similar to ABHERI, but has prominent Prathi madhyamam
Vaali and SPB join hands with MSV-TKR for this marvel.
I did watch this film. It was kind of silly. Sathyaraj will be chosen to act as Roja's husband to please some rich grandfather. Predictably Roja falls in love with Sraj. But SRaj is a escaped convict. He is charged with murdering his Wife's(aamni) murderer.
V-R duo came up with 4 good songs.
'nilave vaa azhaikkudhu azhaikkudhu vaanam'(SPB,KSC)
'mounam enbadhu kavidhai mozhi'(SPB, SJ)
'andha sreeraman seedhaikkuthaan'(Swarnalatha, Mano) and
todays pick
Good one. At the time it came, it must have been one of the very rare compositions to have actually made SPB work a bit.
Thanks for honoring my request Ramki... :)
Wonderful song. I used to think it's in Sumaneesa ranjani, but Geetha may be right. There's a Dha touch in the avarohanam.
There's one more (pathos) song by SPB 'oru koottil kiLiyaaga'.
the ending is just like the bale pandiya song...
