Wasn't "Endha Padhai Enge Payanam..' by KJY from the same film.

I think this movie had all new comers. The one person I remember is Prasanna (who was famous in the drama circle) and had one hit film in the 80s. (some visu type film..)

I think it was by Vijaybabu and "Vadaimalai" fame Saroja. Malayalam Dakshinamurthy scored music (Not Telugu DKM). He scored music for Jeeva nAdi (Ravichandran and Lakshmi starrer)also, if I am correct.

The story is about Vijayan, a taxi driver, falling in love with the next door girl Menaka only to realize that she is the wife of the old man of the house. The old man dies in the process of rescuing their property. Vijayan and his mom provide all the help to Menaka. In the end Menaka dies after consuming poison.
