I am not posting this video for the knock but for some of the interesting comments below!!!.
Why does Ian Chappell hate Steve Waugh so much?
penchod101 1 year ago
He never liked Waugh becoming a defensive player after 1992, plus as I said below he really hated Steve Waugh once Waugh's captaincy was starting to be talked about as being better than Chappelli's.

Also, two other players who hated S.Waugh were Warney and Michael Slater. Slats, because Waugh dropped him from the 5th test of the 2001 Ashes and he never got back into the side after Langer (his replacement) made a century in that match. Warne still never got over the fact that he was dropped from the side in the 4th test in the 1999 WI series and he lost the VC the following year. I'd like to see someone like Ponting make a tough decision like that.....never in a million years.

Tell me about it, Ponting has no guts, Waugh was amazingly tough for dropping warnie for that 4th test, and too bloody right he shouldve- Warnie was awful in the previous 3 tests, bowled pies. Slater was out of control in 2001, deserved to be dropped. But Langer says quite openly now that even he was in a bad frame of mind for most of that tour having been dropped before the first test after Martyn had made heaps of runs in the tour matches.

The use of a new ball from either end in ODIs has made his yorker, bouncer and slower one easier to deal with...
And they say Kohli is better than Tendulkar, richards etstra .... Nee Yenkammaaa

Captain obvious Akashwani when was Malinga ever been effective against subcontinental players with lower grip:twisted: also after retiring from tests he rarely bowls those in between lengths now more of a two trick pony.
Brett lee said the same a year before on using 2 new balls.
check out Malinga stats against subcontinental sides..the rot started long before the 2 new ball rule..Lee was still effective with the new rule..now abrasive surfaces are a rarity so reverse swing is less of a factor..spinners are the ones to be feel hard done by the new rule since they are mostly been reduced to containment.
Leaving Malinga stats out wizzy, Its no wonder Kohli's/Amlas have been raking runs after this degenerative rules in cricket. From red ball to whites and pink(s) in future??. Stats have become meaningless.
two new ball is quite handful on helpful conditions as OZ found out in Eng odies..I wouldn't club Kohls with Amla or even ABdv..Amla/ABdv have proved their worth in tests..concur on Kohls being talked up to being ODI ATG already he hasn't even gone past the second season blues which has reduced many ATGs to mere mortals.

Why no praveen kumar or Ashok Dinda for tests? Suresh Raina of all people is back in the test squad. It is for good that Srikanth is getting replaced.
ye..tide seems seems to be turning in favour of Bengal/KKR..worrying signs :neutral:Quote:
Could be, Gambhir must be backing him now
PK isn't the same after his tennis elbow injury and Dinda doesn't seem to move the ball nor does he have any pace to trouble batsman in tests..Quote:

CSK Raina's continued test selection is unfair on other test hopefuls..he avgs 43 against domestic trundlers :banghead:

When you are going through a good patch, you tend to ignore certain things. It could be your sleeping habits, it could be waking up at 6AM and going for a jog, it could be a gym session. You think you know you have to do all these things. But when you come out of the team, when you get injured, you are not doing that well and you realise that these are things I am missing

"I have lost the lens, iris and pupil in my left eye. There was severe damage to my retina. I have had two major operations and four blood draining operations in the past three weeks and physically, at times, I have been in a lot of pain," Mark Boucher said at his first press conference since the incident, at Newlands.
"It does get uncomfortable at times and being a sportsman, I want to be active and outdoors but, without a pupil, I find any amount of sunlight very harsh and have thus been restricted to the confines of my home. It is unlikely that I will play any professional cricket again in the near future, which is very unfortunate as I was looking forward to contributing as a player for the Cobras. The risk of additional damage to my left eye or even damage to the other eye, doesn't warrant it."
"I don't want people to feel sorry for me. Injuries happen and this could have happened earlier on in my career. I am incredibly grateful for the length of career that I have had and the amazing things I have experienced and people I have met during that time. This is just another challenge in my life and something that I will be working to overcome."
Cricket can be quite morbid at times and nothing like a competitive player ending his career abruptly due to an injury.

Boucher - :(. Man deserved a better winding down of his career. Saffa might even win this current on-going cricket test series with England with him in the team. SIGHHHHH!!

I plead guilty, Your Honour!
Asad Rauf is at the receiving end of a complaint filed by a Mumbai-based fashion model that the popular Pakistan umpire lured her with marriage in order to gain sexual favours.
Model Leena Kapoor has filed the complaint with the office of the DCP, Zone IX, mentioning that she met the former First Class cricketer through a mutual friend in Sri Lanka six months ago and exchanged numbers. They also stayed together in the country for three days.
Rauf, 56, a member of ICC’s Elite Umpire Panel, would meet up with Leena whenever cricketing assignments brought him to India.
As the bond between the two grew stronger, Leena alleges that Rauf committed himself to marrying her and getting her a new flat. He also purportedly told her that he was married with two children, but that his religion allowed him to have more than one wife.
“I asked him several times about the marriage and he would always tell me that it would happen soon,” Leena told an Indian daily.
According to the duped woman, Rauf, a few days ago, called her up saying he didn’t know her and didn’t want any further interactions with her.
Officials at the DCP’s office acknowledge the receipt of the complaint letter and have said an inquiry would be conducted soon.
