Kaththi vs Ai - The battle lines are drawn

The battle lines are drawn for the biggest box office battle in recent years, with Kaththi and Ai getting set to clash for Diwali in October. Before the respective releases of the films, the audio of both the films would be released in September 3rd week, just 3 days apart.

While Ai's audio, released by Sony Music, would be out on September 15 in the presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, Kaththi's audio, released by Eros Music, would be unveiled on 18th September at the Leela Palace Hotel in Chennai.

A.R.Rahman reunites with Shankar and Vikram for yet another outing in Ai, while Anirudh joins hands with A.R.Murugadoss and Vijay for the first time in Kaththi. Both the groups of fans are busy making the biggest noise for their favorite star's upcoming release and the excitement can be clearly felt. Just stop by Twitter, and you would know what we are talking about as new hashtags and daily trends are the way to go for Kaththi and Ai.

Eros Music to release the sound track of Murugadoss' Kaththi starring Illaya Dhalapathy Vijay

Eros International Media Ltd, a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry announced its music label, Eros Music’s foray into Tamil music with the release its first Tamil album, Vijay starrer Kaththi, directed by AR Murugadoss with music by Anirudh Ravichander. Eros Music will release the sound track of this upcoming action thriller, one of the most anticipated Tamil films of 2014 on 18th September.
The soundtrack of Kaththi consists of an eclectic mix of singers and six tracks – soulful melodies to folk songs with Vijay himself lending his voice to one of the tracks - 'Selfie pulla'
Speaking on the announcement, Soundarya Rajinikanth, Director - Creative & Head Eros Digital for south India said, “We are very excited to associate with the Kaththi team to release the music of this much awaited film. This move marks Eros’ debut in the Tamil music market and what can be more auspicious than joining hands with the stalwarts of Tamil cinema – Murugadoss, Vijay sir and youth icon Anirudh. With this move, we are looking forward to leveraging our strength in exclusively exploiting Tamil music content across all formats”.
The audio launch event of the movie is scheduled to take place on 18 September 2014 in Chennai. After the success of Thuppakki, Murugadoss and Vijay are working together once again. Produced by Ayngaran International and Lyca Productions, Kaththi is scheduled to release on Diwali.
With this announcement, in addition to owning music rights of its Bollywood line up, Eros Music will retain, exploit and monetize the music rights of Kaththi across physical and digital formats.

‘Kaththhi’ is voted as the most expected movies & the album of this year from various polls conducted on our site. So far, we all know, Vijay has crooned a song ‘Selfie Pulla’ and he is quietly making it a habit to sing one track of his movies in the recent time. Just a selfie pic of the studio has gone viral and many people are posting their own self it with ‘Kaththi’ poster in the background.

The big news is; Sunidhi Chauhan, who voiced for Darling Dambakku in ‘Maan Karate’ in Anirudh’s composition has sung along with Vijay for selfie Pulla. Anirudh & Aadhi has rendered the intro song while Shankar Mahadevan has comeback to Tamil cinema after a while in this OST. The album consists of 5 songs and 2 theme music and Eros International has bagged the audio rights of the movie for a whopping price which is said to be the highest in the last two years.
