#KVAnand my next film is #Vijay60 -Action N Romance. Interestingly, this
tweet was deleted before it could catch the attention of Vj fans
Mahesh Babu about Vijay.

Couldn't get any better IMO. Vijay continues to make smart choices and the line-up just get's better and better. Vijay 61 could be ARM again given that they have delivered 2 blockbusters.
Kavalan, Nanban, Thuppakki, Kaththi (I am sure most of these would be in Vijay Top 5 for most of us) - 4 really good movies sandwiched between 2 commercial entertainers Velayudham and Jilla, this is such a good period for Vijay. He is putting his cinema career ahead of both SAC and Politics.
Looking forward to all 3 in the pipeline with keen interest.
My Personal Top 10 of Vijay
1. Kaththi - 2014
2. Thuppakki - 2012
3. Ghilli - 2004
4. Kadhalukku Mariyadhai - 1997
5. Priyamudan - 1998
6. Nanban - 2012
7. Thulladha Manamum Thullum - 1999
8. Kavalan - 2011
9. Kushi - 2000
10. Pokkiri - 2007
To me at least, 4 movies from the last 3 years in the top 10 list and 3 movies between 1997-1999.
He is on a roll, no doubt and this time it looks like he is intent on continuing his good form. Way to Go, Vijay!
Yes. Also there is a welcome change of him appreciating young talents. Good going. :)
Thuppakki always stands first in terms of quality rather than Kaththi as the first 45 minutes of the latter really not an absorbing one compares to
the former. IMO Thuppakki stands first rather than Kaththi because it contains all the ingredients mixed in right combination.
My Top 10 of Vijay.
1. Thuppakki
2. Kaththi.
3. Pokkiri
4. Ghilli
5. Friends
6. Thullada Manamum Thullum
7. Sachin
8. Poove Unakkaga
9. Love Today
10. Nanban
Thanks Vasudevan for sharing your list :).
Agree with you completely on Thuppakki being a perfect wholesome entertainer, but to me Kaththi sneaks through because of the twin-dimensions to his portrayal as Jeevanantham and Kathiresan. Better scope for performance, IMHO in Kaththi.
Movies such as Poove Unakkaga and Love Today are better products than Kavalan and were bigger hits too......but just because of Vijay's fall prior to Kavalan and the welcome change that it was to his usual portrayals, makes it special to me.
My personal top 10 of Vijay (although I enjoy watching all his movies ;) ):
1. Kaththi
2. Thuppaki
3. Pokkiri
4. Ghilli
5. Sachein
6. Friends
7. Thirumalai
8. Thullada Manamum Thullum
9. Nanban
10. Kadhalukku Mariyadhai
1.kushi 2.thuppaki/ghilli 3.tmt 4.kaththi 5.nanban 6.badri 7.kathalukku mariyathai 8.luv today 9.vaseegara 10.Friends/nerukku ner/ninaithen vanthai/kavalan/velayutham....
My list
1.Thuppakki
2.Ghilli
3.Kaththi
4.Kadhalukku Mariyadhai
5.Kushi
6.Nanban
7.Poove Unakkaga
8.TMT
9.Thirumalai
10.Thiruppachi
Somehow Pokkiri didn't find a place in my list. I always thought MB did a better job than Vijay. And Thirupachi entertained me more than Pokkiri. Other movies that I selected are purely on their repeat value.
Here goes my list
1. Ghilli
2. Kaththi
3. Thuppakki
4. vaseegara
5. Thulladha manamum thullum
6. Poove Unakkaga
7. Kushi
8. Nanban
9. Friends
10. Thiruppachi/Velayudham
Repeat values vachi patha, Vaseegara would be top on my list :)
What a welcome relief to the constant bickering Vijay's pages has been. Thank you Cedy.
My personal top ten
1.Kaththi (for his immaculate performance. That pressmeet scene alone is enough for Kaththi to remain in my all time top spot)
2.Thuppakki ( if it wasn't for the not so impressive climax it could have shared the top spot)
3.Priyamudan (chocolate eating scene at the airport. Total badassness. Love the multiple shades to his character Vasanth)
4.Thullatha Manamum Thullum (Vijay and Simran. Enough said.)
5. Thirumalai ( I know a lot of you probably love the scene at the pier but my personal favourite is the wedding hall scene. The characterization is brilliant. This movie is even more special because it came after a string of flops when most people had written him off)
6. Love Today ( birthday scene after his arrest. The father son relationship portrayed by Raghuvaran-what a performer, and Vijay is the best ever in Tamil cinema IMO)
7. Sachein and Vaseegara (because it's Sachein and Boopathy <3. They gotta be the cutest fictional characters ever)
8. Ghilli ,Thirupachi,Sivakasi, Pokkiri
9. Nanban (Kolantha othachan line and his expressions)
10.Poove Unakaga(You just can't not love this movie. I bet it's in everyone's list) and Kadhaluku Mariyathai.
I know it technically ain't top ten, more like top fifteen but whatever. I see a pattern here, everyone has Kaththi Thuppakki Poove unakaga and Thullatha Manamum Thullum in their list. I'm (pleasantly) surprised to see TMT making its way to everybody's list.
I am also very much eager to know after which movie u guys became fan of him...I became his fan after kushi
Oh man, it is so hard to say after what movie but I can maybe say in what period of time. I don't remember exactly when as I slowly grew to like him. When I was young I did not care much about any other actor's movies because all I needed was Rajini and MGR but I think it was during 2003-2004 that changed everything. The very first movie that made me become a huge fan of Vijay was Thirumalai. I loved everything about that movie. I started dressing as Thirumalai and I even started copying the way he takes his cigarette even though I was like 12 years old then. Then came Ghilli. Oh that Ghilli craze. Every where I went it was nothing but Ghilli. I instantly fell in love with his comedies and action. After that I watched all his older movies whenever it was on TV. So Thirumalai will always hold a special place.
Here's mine. With period allowances based on past impact rather than present day watchability :)

I was a semi fan before Priyamudan release. To me its an important movie in Vijays career. I am just missing watching 3 movies from his filmography, One day ill finish this, no matter how those three movies are.
Here is my top 10:
1. Ghilli
2. Kaththi
3. Thuppakki

Hi Guys,
I am from Kerala. I became VJ fan after watching TMT in 1999. I still remember that day when I watched that film from Ajantha theature trivandrum. To be honest I won't watch Tamil films at that time and since I watched all other movies playing , my friend pulled me for this one. We missed first 10 mins and we don't know the hero's name also. After the movie I liked that and went outside the theature and finds out hero's name - VIJAY. Next day morning show we again watch the same film next day
After that watched all the movies of VJ from theature.
My favorities are
1. Pokiri
2. Thuppaki
3. Kaththi
4. Gilli
5. Thirupachi\Velayudham
6. Kushi
7. Badri
8. TMT
9. Shajahan\Sachin\Vaseegara
10. Thirumalai
JILLA is special eventhough the movie is average, its for the dream come true combo - lalettan and vj
Oncemore. I was four or five but its the first movie of VIJAY I clearly remember watching. I remember wearing out the tape so much my dad had to buy another one. Not one meal time went by without watching Ooty malai beauty. What can I say, this guy has always been a kid magnet. Been his fan as far as I can recall and even before that.
Kadhalukku Mariyadhai, without a doubt to me. Remember watching it in theatres as it was nearing its 50 day run and both Vijay and Shalini became instant favourites.
Ilayaraja Sir's songs right from 'Ithu Sangeetha Thirunaala' takes you on a musical ride and Vijay's youthful exuberance and elegance were a treat to watch. You could feel, the next generation to Rajni-Kamal is here. Remember Textile Shops selling Vijay T-shirts, the posters of Vijay/Shalini placed in every poster shops, the video cassette of KM being shared among households and all the songs occupying at least the top 3 spots in Philips Super 10. Over the next few years, you could see many a Vijay's songs rampaging through Super 10, Pepsi Ungal Choice and Neengal Ketta Padal.
Many thanks to Director Fazil, for changing Vijay's image forever! Vikraman's Poove Unnakaga was an important break too, but KM was a game changer.
Remember how in an interview few years ago, Chiyaan Vikram also had mentioned how Vijay became a household name after Kadalukku Mariyadhai.
No wonder, Ennai Thalatta Varuvala became such a rage those days. The song which begins with a 'heart beat' and Vijay walking casually, just that 4 minute song took Vijay into many a household, I guess. Easily, the best song for Ilayathalapathy.
Somehow, I guess Vijay looked entirely different in KM, compared to all his previous movies. He was neat, had just the right physique and his dresses were are all top notch.
No turning back, ever since :)
My top ten list of Vj movies:
1. Kaththi/ Thuppakki
2. Ghilli/ Pokkiri
3. Thirumalai/ Thiruppachi
4. Nanban
5. TMT
6. Poove Unakkaga
7. Kushi
8. Friends
9. Kavalan
10.Vaseegara
Vijay's choice of movies interesting....chimbudevan-atlee-kv anand and I also c he finishes chimbudevan project quickly and moving on to Atlee project since gv Prakash already started to compose songs...I really wonder how he manages to work back to back ....this man has amazing energy..
Except for the lengthy break he took before Aadhi, I dont think he had a break in his 22 year career. It has always been shooting after shooting after shooting.
Incidentally, Dec 4th marks another landmark for him. Enters his 23rd year in TFI.
Cedy, I am not very good with picking my top favorites. I will try but it is in no specific order.
1. Vaseegara
2. Udhaya
3. Kaadhalukku Mariyadhai
4. Poove Unakkaga
5. Pokkiri
6. Ghilli
7. Thuppaki
8. Kaththi
9. Kushi
10. Thirumalai
I grew up watching and enjoying Rajinikanth movies like Muthu, Baadshah as many of you and at that time know Vijay only as one of the actor, later I become his fan after watching his movies like Kushi, Friends, Priyamanavalae with my family. He really had something to attract and not to forget Vijay's songs were always been chartbusters. It was not easy to listen to mp3 songs or video songs like nowadays then, where we rely mostly on television and never misses to put the volume on high :) whenever his songs are played. Songs from Badri, Youth, Bagavathi, Sachin, Shahjahan and many still has some of my favourite songs to listen
You wont believe how many times I have seen pokkiri. I know every dialogue by heart.
Ajay sir,I think he took tat break after aadhi before starting pokkiri....
Yeah. My mistake. After Aadhi. :)
Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay and his 22 years of stardom

100 cr Thuppakki
After the hat-trick hits, Vijay acted in AR Murugadoss’ Thuppakki, which went on to gross Rs 100 cr in Tamil cinema. The film broke many records and stood next to Superstar Rajinikanth’s Endhiran.
Kaththi (the second 100 cr movie) & huge expectations for upcoming projects Kaththi and this time the actor has joined the 100 cr club again.
Now Vijay’s market value stands next to Rajinikanth in Tamil cinema. Proof of that lies in the fact that four key territories of his next film have already been sold even before the completion of its first schedule.
So another year has passed by just like that? Nope, this year was a memorable one thanks to Kaththi's resounding success :) More than Kaththi's success and the impressive pipeline that he has, the thing that amazes me is as Vinod puts its., the love for his job.
This man never looks tired or weary and winning/losing, success/failure seems to have the same effect on him. He puts behind things and keeps moving on and on. Looks like he has everything planned meticulously and hardly looks stressed. He works round the clock, 2 movies a year on an average, is there for all key promotions, makes sure he honours his confidants by being right beside them be it a movie pooja or an audio release or a marriage function or an award function, finds time for philanthropy and amidst all, looks young, super cool and relaxed.
Another 22 in the beckoning! Keep Going Vijay!
