I am now hearing 'Thaaye Shankari'. The first raaga is definitely Sudhasaveri. With an overall attractive scale, Sudhasaveri raagam when played usually enchants, and here is no exception. At first I thought that the first Sudhasaveri based film song ever in TFM was 'Koyil Maniyosai Kettathaaro', so this song came as a pleasant surprise. I couldn't say for sure what the second raaga sounds like Saalaga Bhairavi. The third raaga sounds like Hamsanaadham. Super.

Nitya, have you heard 'raajan maharaajan' from the same film (shyamala). Great one. Once you've heard the MKT generation, I hope you won't claim IR was the one to introduce 'this and that' raga in TFM (barring a few). :)

Jayabharathi did Kudisai and Marupakkam(NA for Sivakumar or the movie itself)

Looks like Geethanjali seen in great songs like 'ninaithaal podhum paaduven' ,'kannan maNanilaiyai' etc is the heroine of this film.
Im not sure if MM was a remake or dubbing verison of PM.
Knowledgable people can ofcourse,always share the details with rest of us.
