அவர்போன்ற சாந்த சொரூபிகளைப் பார்த்துதான், என்னைப்போன்ற 'சண்டைக்கோழிகளும்' எங்கள் போக்கை மாற்றி நடக்கத்துவங்கியுள்ளோம். மற்றபடி, சர்ச்சைகளில் இறங்குவது எனக்கு சர்க்கரைப் பொங்கல் சாப்பிடுவதுபோல என்பது பழையவர்களுக்கு தெரியும். ஆனால் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் Digression Threads வேண்டாம் என்பதால் 'நாமுண்டு, நம் நடிகர்திலகம் உண்டு' என்று இருக்கத்தொடங்கி விட்டோம்.

இவருடைய நடிப்புத்திறமையை நாம்தான் 'அப்படி இப்படி'ன்னு கொண்டாடுகிறோமே தவிர, மத்திய தேர்வுக்கமிட்டி வைத்திருக்கும் அளவுகோலுக்கு ஏற்ப இவரால் நடிக்க முடியவில்லை (அதாவது நடிக்கத் தெரியவில்லை). இதுதான் முழுசான உண்மையான காரணம்.

National award and BO hits were already discussed in this thread often. As everyone knows National award is really a joke since actors like Saif Ali, Vikram, etc., got this so called award. Even we act we will get National award.

Repeat here Mr.Ragavendra's comment on NT :

Least bother about NT's achievements as a hero and do not utter a single word. Leave alone Box Office matter, when a philosophical song, or when a social message song of NT is telecast, they do not utter a single word about the contents of that song or on Nadigar Thilagam. This kind of attitude to such a great artiste, particularly belonging to Tamil land. is highly painful.
And if only our Film Society in emerges successfully, it would definitely pave way for us to bring out the real glories of NT as a Box Office Thilagam.

since living in Mulitplex culture, even if a movie run for more than 1 week, it will be declared as Super hit in papers and TVs. When compare with this type of BO super hits, then NT films are not at all BO hit. It is super duper mega hits.

I asked this before, and I ask again...is there a way to calculate the box office receipts and have it inflation adjusted to present terms and show how much they value nowadays? I bet it will be mind-blowing.

rather than the inflation... u can see that, at present no 2 big movies are competing against each other... so if somebody needs to go for a movie, there is no much option unlike earlier days.

IN 1992 THALAPATHY AND GUNA WERE RUNNING IN BANGALORE LAKSHMI AND ADHARSHA RESPECTIVELY.AT THE SAME TIME VASANTHA MAALIGAI WAS RERELEASED IN LAAVANYA WHICH IS LOCATED VERY NEAR TO THE ABOVE TWO THEATRES.THALAPATHY AND GUNA WERE IN THEIR THIRD WEEK RUN AND VM FIRST WEEK.EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A RERELEASE I PAID RS.40 IN BLACKMARKET FOR RS.12 TICKET WHERE AS TP AND GUNA TICKETS WERE SELLING AT RS.30 IN BLACK MARKET.THIS IS JUST A SAMPLE FOR NT'S BO POWER

Agree with you. Let us move forward.

To all other NT fans, I can understand your feelings but please realise this is again a calculated attempt to derail this thread. I expected this especially after the saadhanai pattiyal. If you could read in between the lines, the same old streak of authortianism can be seen (ie) dictating what we should write or what we should not. Hope you understand and just leave it.

It is not that I can't do an comparitive analysis and infact I can give authenticated details, location wise (be it Chennai, Madurai or Tiruchy or Palani or even Pallavaram) where NT films have simply dethrown the so called biggest hits. But in that process I don't want to hurt some people (whom I love and who love me) like Thiru,Selva and Maddy, because this is bound to happen when such comparisons are made. So,let us leave it and move forward.

Every fan will try to prove the primary complaints on their hero with proofs that a general audience might not have known. Among all the posts of Murali sir, you can find many information on NT films. He is not someone who always boasts about box office. But if required, he can do that. After all, this is the thread of the actor whom he love very much. I have seen lot of discussions on his performance in this thread. This is the first time he had come up with exquisite collection of box office details.

If you incline towards NT more than my favorite then you should appreciate the HARDWORK with which he had provided them. If you have problems with that, you can ignore and read only the discussions. :)
