Fell down from chair laughing at Raaja's anecdote on kavignar .
Particularly 'that ' ashtray and cigarette comment...
joke apart - he clinched the deal in favour of kavignar when he said "Naan notes ezudhara maadhiri kavignar
paattu ezudhuvaar" - genius apdeengara much abused wordukku inimel idhu dhaan right definition.
His reference to shubert's awesome piece - coincidentally in my new place they have a station beaming

made me stop the car in the side and listen... joys of listening to music... vaarthaigal thoarkum arpudha anubhavam....
Oru chinna :collar_lift: - IR is the Kannadasan of his era apdinnu indha forumla munnAdiyE padhivu senjuttEnnu perumaiyOdu sollikkoLgiREn. Couple of important points on IR and his personality came out - the body language in BMK's presence - oh ye detractors of his arrogance, know ye that to earn his respect, you need to be of the calibre of Balamuralikrishna. This is actually an aspect of his character that I have highlighted and celebrated in a PM to Littlemaster. Nammalaala mudiyumA? Avaraala mudiyin - EnnA THAT is the degree of his genius. Only the truly blessed and super-talented can and will have that discriminatory faculty - no fake praises will emanate from that mouth. Andha levelukku talent illAdha namma and maRRa sagOdharagaL at our level dhaan politeness-ku kodi pidippOm(and don't be astounded that I am saying it - indha forumla dhaan namma arrogance ellAm. Real life-la mudiyumA?)
Kamesh & Rajaram,
Thanks much for the videos. No words to describe the program. I dont remember when i heard the song "Oru raagam" before, but an amazing song. Ulagathula irundha ella pull'um serndhu aricha pola irundhudhu...andha 2nd interlude'a kekkum bodhu!
So many highlights...Will write more later...
thanks,
Krishnan
The second point is about Kavignar - the amazement he expressed at Kavignar's spontaneity. True to his constant emphasis on the need for spontaneity in his music making process. It is that aspect that appeals to him - ofcourse, what I mean is the ability to produce Quality output spontaneously. If you go by the defn of genius as "99 percent perspiration", then there are a lot of geniuses in the world. If you restrict it to ability to produce magic spontaneously, consistently, then that number reduces significantly.
What we post day-in-day-out in the hub has been told by Prakash Raj :-)
I'm in Anandha sAgaram :thank you:
Plum, one word Vidya Garvam.. without which his anecdote on Kannadasan would have sounded blasphemous..
