did anyone watch "premam" malayalm movie? it's running in DC week after week...
Ok. thanks. today i scheduled to watch papanasam...probably i'll watch it next week.
Kaakka Muttai
A good film. Loved the performances of both the kids and all the supporting actors. But I only wonder what the hype was all about. It didnt have anything exceptional to be given 60 marks in AV or the 'wow factor' that films like Soodhu Kavvum or Jigarthanda had.
Param ji,
Terminator is a franchise. If you followed it from 1984, I don't see any reason why you would skip Terminator: Genisys, assuming that you have watched 'Rise of the Machines' & 'Salvation'. If you have got past them, you will survive Genisys too. Hollywood keeps on pumping sequels after sequels, and if you have noted, that's what they have been doing for the past decade.
Well, as you have asked : Electronic occupation continues. The characters are retained - Kyle Reese, John Connor & surprisingly T-800 too - and the fight for survival is up and kicking, this time around 2017, if you accept to take the journey from 1984. This is where they try to revive the franchise adding in a new time line to make Arnold fight Himself, which was fantastic. Genisys tris to draw its energy from Judgement Day and the way it juices itself up is just fine, but the way it holds on is questionable as Genisys attire looks stunning but aspect looks older than Judgement day. And if you have followed Rise of Machines, the resistence gets re-written with a new survival mode - Genisys, which is nothing new, but for Alan Taylor, yes. So, the other details depends how much you love the series - like they have a new sound track for Genisys and upgraded Judgement Day machines. Arnold is inside striking with his awesome lines (I will be back - still looks excellent after 30 years), where they try to justify him as a Gaurdian - 'I have been waiting for you'. The tricks makes Terminator a technical mythos.
Genisys depends on your likeness to the series, how much attention you would like to invest and nothing to do with anything negative or positive. I liked Genisys and will like Terminator 6 too, and am not bothered about tomatoes that are rotten.
If you choose to watch it please let us know more about the movie.
"primer" - when you get time watch this little gem.. am sure you'll be tempted to turn it off after first 20-25 mins but if you keep little patience you'll be rewarded handsomely. it's availble in netflix and the ratings there aren't good but disregard them for the moment and give this a shot. also i think it's virtually impossible to correctly interpret and understand the movie first time so a second pass is definitely needed ;-)
"Mad Max - Fury Road" is one helluva ride totally enjoyable - George Miller's several years of painstaking efforts show in the final product - stunning!
one of the funniest scenes i have watched in recent times...see from 26 min 44 sec onwards

gave a try to genesis for beautiful daenerys my favorite only next to jon (i have a 200$ bet with my collegue that he'll be back in the next season) in GOT, total disaster in my view. unless king of the world JC himself directs it again i will not watch another skynet movie in this birth. i'm happy for both T1 & T2 which i have bluray for and can do a repeated vieweing on T1 (more than T2) which is one of the Arnie's best..
Watched Genisys , not bad as I thought .. the famous smile from "Arnie" and his one liners like " I am old, not obsolete " were excellent and not to mention the famous " I will be back" and "nice to see you " were laugh riot !
papanasam - loved the movie.
my top films for 2015 so far:
1. pisasu
2. papanasam
3. kakka muttai
papanasam could have benefitted from some editing (3hrs was too long) and gauthami didn't fit in the movie. despite these minor flaws, i enjoyed the movie. can watch more than once.
Demonte colony - good ( but overrated)
36 vayadhinile - good
Eli - kuppai.
Eli - Completely fails as a movie, Can watch only if one would want to have a glimpse of Vadivelu's antics.
Demonte colony, certainly scares you....... but what is in it as a movie? no story or plot.....whatever stories you hear from the old man in the colony, the same is again happening to them..... pretty unorthodox but does not serve the purpose of a movie or a story........... what an average movie viewer like me would expect
no hero or protagonist, although arulnidhi pretends to be one till the last.... may be that is an intentional one......
Kaakkaa muttai - Very Good.. honest attempt.. award padamngradhu anaganga theriyama illa but still worth a watch..
for those who haven't seen.. especially overseas.. einthusan has the lotus dvd print..
Papanasam - It's not just a remake as few says , it's a very well made remake .
P.S - I repeat remake is not that easy as few thinks.
Romeo Juliet - Enjoyable Throughout :) :) :) VTV Ganesh :rotfl: This guys voice send roars of laughter !! Imman  Superb Songs :)

Mexicomeat,
It's a brilliant movie. There is a Twitter handle called 'One Perfect Shot' which shares best shot frames from movies all over the world. And this movie often features in it.
If you haven't watched The Chaser, Perfect Number, No Mercy, Montage, try them too.. Koreans are very good at making films in this genre.

Romeo Juliet - Out & Out its HANSIKA SHOW...starts well(till breakup) after that...nothing interesting nor engaging. VTV Ganesh should have stopped acting after VTV.
Baahubali
A film that India can be proud of. There is nothing new in the story. But the writing and technical aspects are top notch.
Plus: Performance of all the main characters, screenplay, VFX, Music and Art direction
Minus: Predictable twists

Paalakkaattu Madhavan - a movie to enjoy in.....
I enjoyed this movie a lot. It is a sentiment/comedy/drama about a young man who is being very irresponsible changes and becomes responsible. Vivek stuns with his timing sense and humour. Sonia Agarwal impressed me too, she is a serious competitor to C-3PO. This is the best movie I have seen in 1980.
Romeo Juliet
Loved the Dandanakka Song. Everything else was a pain to watch. Wish they deleted the last 5 minutes of the movie and went with the "not-so-happy" ending.
Baahubali - :banghead:
I saw it with so much expectation and I was left disappointed. I don't know what people were saying about the visuals. It is good but not spectacular. You can tell what are CG and what is not. The story has been done in more than half the movies in India. It was very popular in 70's and 80's. Even far back. There were so many scenes that made me facepalm out of stupidity. some stupid scene made me laugh and others just made me angry. What is up with Indian cinema that creates strong female characters and then reduce them to a sex object for the man to lust over and save. And the hero's motivation was driven by lust. What a pathetic hero.
I hated Nan E and I hate this movie too.
Watched Bahuballi with jam packed crowd- excellent and must watch..fantastic visuals and vfx...hats off to SSR vision and his guts and his execution skills....kudos to srinivasan mohan...stunts are great...crowd response is terrific...can't wait for bahuballi2...
Paalakkaattu Madhavan - enjoyed the movie. vivek is back to form... movie is packed with vivek's double meaning dialogues.
movie is in the same league as budget padmanabhan and middle class madhavan - if you enjoyed those, you will enjoy this movie too.
Romeo Juliet - Bad. Idhu dhan unga love ah, illa idhu dhan unga love ah nu ketten.....
I liked Engeyum Kadhal with this same pair.
Imman and Dandanakka super, but failed miserably in picturising the song
