Dear Mr.Rangarajan,
I cant say yes or no to your postings as it is purely personal opinion of yours. But I can quote Kamal's opinion from one of his interviews for kunkumam magazine in 1980.
As quoted by Kamal.
"Though Sivaji Sir is India's greatest Actor ,he happens to be a star also. His Fans have accepted his movies like thirisoolam which has created record on its own sort which we are all wondering when we can touch that feet. But this kind of adoration from his pillaigal is affecting the kind of movies he is currently doing. It is my dream or a burning desire to cast him in a role to his fullest potential as I strongly feel ,he has the same verve and vigour as a great Actor and I will do it shortly."

Kamal did it but 10 years later in Devar magan.

My answer is that his potential is best exploited from 1952 - 1974 . After this period also he blended well with young generation like Durai,Barathi Raja, Vijayan,Manivannan, Barathan to name a few.There were worthwhile performances after 1975 also , and he remained the same till his last breath.
Definitely,there are people here with unconditional adoration which is natural.
we are not abusing anyone with honest and straight intentions .If you are too serious ,as a movie buff ,I can clarify all your doubts by PM.

Mr.S.Gopal , I am seeing a cultured response for the first time here . Tks. Pl answer to my question straight. Why his quality deteriorated rapidly is my query . He could have been selective in chosing characters. Else, he himself could have created his movies .Pudhiya paravai and all showed his own production capabilities no ? a great movie !

What I witness here is wild celebration for undeserving or below par movies of Sivaji . I am not saying you are also part of this mad fan group but in the process the quality of this thread is getting poorer by such needless credits on some movies which if some new guy wishes to know about Sivaji. Going by such celebrations, if he happens to see those movies, he only will get disappointed and will shun watching some great movies of Sivaji.

I think what Kamal said about Thirusoolam is perfect. That movie didnt deserve this huge success. This is my opinion too.

The movieproduction is business and his movies were money spinners and he was a mass crowd puller in ABC centres and with highest succes rate than any other star in India. So all kind of movies were made with him. His later year movies like Deepam, Thunai, vaazhkai,Mudhal mariyadhai, Thevar Magan showed his class as the greatest of all time. Most of the movies are catered to maases and they were successful.

Unquote.
You cant blame kamal for this as Film Making is Business and Money does the talking. You have a language, Geographical,cultural,Political Barriers.

Sir, I am not getting into this money factor or ABC etc. There is no question on his BO success. Lets not get into that. See my first post. I have questioned the quality aspect.

Am I right , if I say that since mid 70s, he had acted in some 120 plus movies ! So, you are able to quote hardly 5 movies above as classics . In my opinion, the last 2 are the ones which everyone would expect while the first 3 are not of his caliber or his own benchmarking.

He could have been selective in chosing roles.

As I told you , people can have their own opinion. Everyone have their own choice and preferences with their own opinions.We can not dictate the people with our opinions and ideas but we can subtely express them.

Would you please stop answering unwanted question of deliberately confusing people?
There is no use in talking with these guys and making this thread loose its stability.
Moreover, nobody has entrusted whoever the gentleman is ..to check on the quality of the thread. If someone thinks this thread doesn't have the standard, let them get lost and look at some thread if at all there are better standard thread.

If he has got GENUINE Concern, let him ask Nadigar Thilagam itself when he gets an opportunity to meet him at much later part of post their life (or) if they want to understand bfore that, let them ask the producers (or) script writers (or) directors.

Or let him ask the same question about other actors in other actors forum available here..! then let him come back to us.

We are not here to answer such trouble creators. We know who he is after all !

அதுவும் திரி நல்ல நிலையில் இயங்கும்போது ..? அதுவும் வேறு எவ்வளவோ திரைப்படங்கள் இருக்க உத்தமன் திரைப்படத்தை பற்றி எழுதும்போது கூட அல்லாமல், பம்மலாரின் இலங்கை விளம்பரங்களை பதிவிட்டதற்கு பிறகு இந்த நல்ல எண்ணம் இங்கு எழுத்துவடிவில் வந்தால் ?

வேறு எந்த திரியிலும் இது போன்ற பொருள் தொனிக்கும் கேள்விகளை எப்போதாவது ஒருமுறை கூட எழுப்பாமல் இங்கு வந்து எழுப்பிய காரணம் ?
