Sivaji a widower will love JJ and JJ though having high regard for NT will neverthless be drawn towards muthuraman via his daughter (Muthuraman also a widower). Just as you said NT will write a letter to JJ and give it to Major. While major goes in search of JJ, she will come to Sivaji's house.
On seeing her NT " Lalitha, vaa'' endru sollivittu kalyanathai patri pesa arambipar. In the course of the conversation NT will ask " manaviyai izathanvanga marumanam pannuvathu thappilai-ingriya"
JJ will reply that she is ready ti marry a widower.
NT with so much happinees on his face will ask " Lalitha ,nee padichava, panbu niranjava, unnai manaiviyaga adayara alavukku--"
Cutting him short JJ will ask " Chandru(MR's character) thakuthi illathavarinu ninaikreengala "
Struck by the words NT-in mugathai parka vendumae, athirchi, ematram, thigaippu ellam minni maraiyum.
He will control himself and bless her. At that time Major enters and on seeing JJ " inga irukeengala ? ungalai engayalaum thedarthu? " he will try to give the letter, when NT interferes and gets the letter and tores it. JJ leaves and as you mentioned Major will ask " Ellam pesi mudichuteengala ejaman?''
At that moment NT standing on the staircase facing camera will turn and say "Aha" a gesture which is only to be seen and enjoyed. Major, thinking that NT & JJ are going to get married will speak out with enthu. Cutting him short NT will say " Kalyanam Chandrukkum Lalithavirkkum ".
Major in an emotional tone " Naan muttal, ejaman, muttal"
NT will immediately reply " Nee muttal illadae, un pechai kettu konjam avasarapatten paaru, naanthan muttal" and will start climbing the staircase.
An unforgettable scene, unforgettable dialogue and an unforgettable gesture oozing with style.
Thanks for Joe for making me remember the scene
