:rotfl: Actually it's "aha ei" * 2 - it's a Madurai special i guess, this line/tone
Olli Vadivel comedies are the best

:rotfl2: eththanai thadavai pArthAlum alukkAdhu. pAnchAlankurichchi, one of his very best.
the kOzhi vaangura scene where he runs at breakneck speed
deivamE..vEgaththai kuRaikkAma pOyittirukkEn...edhirla maNNu lorry edhuvum vandhuraama nee dhaan kAppAththaNum
Sundarapurushan is another classic olli vadivelu
The mono-acting scene when he enters bayilvan ranganathan's house
he is taken aback, he laughs, overcome with joy, siluvar pEtri (torch), peerOLu (bureau), peerOLukku peerOLu (locker).. adap pOngadA
It's like there is more than he can ask for....and then he talks to his defunct father, who is not around to see him 'earn'
indha maadhiri oNNu reNdu veedu irundhA naan appadiyE pick-up paNNi pOyiruvempA (kEvi kEvi azhudhukkittE solluvaapla )
All the time looking up at the sky, he is conversing while rummaging through the findings, which include a pattu vEtti, he is trying to tie. So he excuses himself from the conversation to wear the vEtti: "suththirrEn pA, suththirrEn" :rotfl3:
Outrageously funny.
It only gets better when bayilvan comes and he pretends to be a police officer talking over phone. Just imagine, he is caught red-handed, caught by the scruff of the neck and tries to talk his way through, purportedly to some senior officer: "family-ai pArththA remba kEvalamAna family-yA dhaan saar irukku", "ellAm maximum cover paNNittEn saar" and then "aamaam saar, mOdharam pOttirukkAn saar" and snatches the ring
And the sign off "ok ok ok ok ok ok (slips 'phone' into undraayar pocket) :rotfl3:
The funniest part is bayilvan has not bought this one bit and is watching with farce and catches him again.
Livingstone arbitrates and gives his ring as compensation to bayilvan to end the issue. Vadivelu feels bayilwan does not deserve graceful compensation. He snatches the ring, keeps it on his foot and extends it to bayilwan
:rotfl: classic :notworthy:
Talking about olli vadivelu comedies - first movie that comes to mind is the one he acts as a student to venniradai moorthy.
sentimentally delivers to the lady teacher..."ungala madhiri oru teacher namma schoolla ella vagupalayum irundhurundha...pathu varushathukku munaadiye naan pass aayi veliya odirupen teacher".
seconds later as he follows the teacher "idha enga poyi mudiyapogudho"

The fantastic cycle class scene
"yenpa sayura...yen saayura..."
venniradai with his trademark stress at the right place - "unna ketkama edhayume thodamaten"
:rotfl2:
No Way. In fact thats where GM and Vadivelu scores over yesteryear comedians like Nagesh, chandrababu. These two are completely naturals...on the other hand most of the comedians from the previous era gave manufactured comedy...unfunny, muyarchi slapstick or deliberately <look I am delivering a funny line> timings. IMHO Vadivelu as a comedian alone scores over any comedian of the black and white era. Vadivelu is right person to be compared with them as he do slapstick and the type of comedy they performed.
Nagesh - ofcourse was good. But not as funny as VV.
No No, I never said Nagesh was funny !, infact he may have been funny for that Generation, but some how Vadivels, Body Language, as in jumping, falling down, running all reminds of me of the "few" Nagesh comedies I have seen. (Due to My Parents who are of great nagesh fans). In terms of Facial expressions, Only Vidivelu possible! , but since I like sarcastic jokes, Annan Gounds stands Tall amongts the rest !
comparing two comedians from different era and concluding one is better than another is not a wise conclusion. nagesh is one guy who stood out when he even acted with MGR and Sivaji... IMO, many situatuion he over shadows even sivaji in comedy. Nagesh had great timing sense....it may not be funny as it was if you look now. Not only nagesh, most of the yester year comedies does not look funny now as it was....
in almost 10 films, incl Winner, vadivelu has a pattern of walking. until singamuthu came to counter him in past election, where he said "Madurai la irnthu, "S" vadivula valainju nelinju nadanthu varra oruthan", none of us recognized that "S" thingi! Genius he is! Now, can u loace this kind of mannerism in nagesh!. Nope, vadivel's is totally different from Nagesh's
