nice movements in the interludes and when suresh wadkar joins asha in the charanam it reaches a different level. for Vidyasagar fans this will remind them of "Malare maunama" The second interlude violin passages are typical ilaiyaraaja...Quote:

need to give more listens. However there are some phases, where the song kind of meanders. I donno why..
I thought Deemi Deemi (Siva) or Kaise kahoon (Nandu) is the best of songs Raaja has given in Hindi. But this one...Quote:

'aaro paadunnu doori' from 'Katha Thudarunnu'. Probably the best song of last year for me. 'anadala lokam' gives it a close run for the money. That now reminds me. Need to listen to 'anadala lokam' now.

Oomakkuyil - Thaazhampoo Thaalil Nin (IR/ONV Kurup/S Janaki)
It's one of the 'perfect 10' S Janaki chechi song all the way and Maestro knows it. This is what is called 'Singing'.
SJ starts with beautiful la la la humming which directly sets the mood of the song without going into the song. That's Chechi! What a start! After the flying start, observe the prelude before the pallavi. Second time when she sings Thaazhampoo, she elongates it to improvise it, how sweet. Violins, flute and guitar sets the melody race in the interludes. Soothing long interludes.
In charanams the bass track provide the perfect counter melody and the way the bass guitar finishes at the last line of charanam is a beauty (goosebumps), only Maestro can do it.
Typical Balu Mahendra picturization.
Rant: Current generation singers should learn from S Janaki how to get the perfect feel for a song. This song is a perfect example. They all sing beautifully, but they somehow I don't find this kind of feel in most of the songs. May these kind of songs does not come at all to showcase their talent.
This song is in loop now, very breezy and haunting too. S Janaki. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
