MSV scored some really nice songs for Poikkaal Kuthirai. The film starred Viji and Ramakrishna, and was directed by K.Balachandar. Ramakrishna, pretending to be blind, sings this song to Viji who had just come out of the shower and she enjoys the song unaware that he is not really blind.

Few months ago we featured one of S.M.Subbiah Naidu's songs from the film Ezhai Padum Paadu(1950). Today's pick came several years later and SMS proves that he kept up with time, trend and technology.

"Raja Veettu Pillai" starred Jaisankar and Jayalalitha and was directed by Dada Mirazi. "pUvO pUvu" was picturized on the young and cute Jayalalitha selling flowers on the street. Few months ago we featured an LRE classic in which she was, again, hawking flowers on the street (muppathu paisA from the film Pookkaari). Today's song is another LRE classic. oho ammOOOOi...!

On a side note, M.S.Viswanathan when he was still a teenager started his apprenticeship with S.M.Subbiah Naidu in the mid 1940s at Central Studios in Coimbatore.
