wov...Its surprise that Bombay jayashree sung film songs prior to minnaley... mesmerizing song which will continue to keep us in peaceful mood.

along with BJ, few kids are sining and its nice to hear the song with their voices..IR used extensive veenai in the interludes to substantiate the lyric.

This is one of the album which I ignored like..."சீ..சீ இந்த பழம் புளிக்கும்"..because all the songs were sung by mano...

few more good songs in this album..lets listen one by one.

The resemblance is due to the fact that both the songs use the same raga, 'Hamir Kalyani'. Otherwise the two songs are structured differently. Vasant Desai sticks very close to the classical Hamir Kalyani. I found the shades of Kalyani much higher in Raja's composition.

.. and thanks Visu for making me listen to these two songs again :) I have heard the 'Guddi' songs multiple times but not the 'Vietnam Colony' one. Loving both of them in equal measure.

The more I hear 'Kai Veenayai' the more I perceive the Yamuna Kalyani touch. The pallavi definitely has Hamir Kalyani but the charanams tend more towards Yamuna Kalyani.
