Actually ARR is interested in scoring music for tamil films. I saw the sakkarakatti movie launch videos where he said that there is a lot of expectations from him for tamil audience. So he told that he will keep doing important projects in tamil.

Today's Dinamalar had an article about Vijay's next Project. It was stated that his next movie is to be directed by Bharathan under Appachan's Swargachitra banner. The music is to be composed by Manisarma. The rest of the crew is to be finalised. It was also stated that the shooting would commence soon after the shooting of Pokkiri ends.

Which of the news is true, i dont know.

Manisharma is the MD of Vijay's current film Pokkiri. But Vijay fan circle is very sure that ARR is the MD for this new movie. Let us wait for the offical announcement.

They are the two big names in Tamil cinema. Vijay and Rahman share many things in common. Youngsters swear for them and scream their lungs out when their new movie is out. They are the youth icons of Tamil cinema. Wouldn’t that be nice to have them together in a movie? Well, they have worked in Udaya and owing to many complexities, the movie’s release was hopelessly delayed. When it was finally released it only managed to create a mediocre response and vanished from the box office in a jiffy.

That was history though. We have got news from reliable industry sources that Vijay’s next movie will have Rahman’s music. Vijay has finalized on his next movie as he had promised earlier to work for Appachan’s banner Swargachitra. His commitment to Pokkiri delayed the process and now as Pokkiri is in the verge of completion, Vijay has nodded his agreement to Appachan to go ahead with the plans.

Bharathan who worked with Vijay in Gilli as an Assistant Director and dialogue writer will be directing the movie, which is named as ‘Azhagiya Tamil Magan’.

Rumors also suggest that Shreya is the lead choice for the movie. However, she can only confirm her commitment after the release of Sivaji as per her contract.

Vijays next film is azhagiya tamizhmagan directed by barathan produced by appachan. music by ar rahman & heroine is shreya saran. The film shooting commences on the day pokiri releases. its a story based on a real incident in madurai and its not a commercial film of vijay. Vijay has clearly stated that he will do orginal films and will try to also avoid commercial films and do gud story filims which has scope for acting. Swargachitra Appachan who was going around in circles for the last two years trying to make a film with Vijay, is now a relieved man.
Bharathan who was Dharani’s assistant and dialogue writer has worked out a script for him and the film is tentatively titled as Azgagiya Tamizh Magan,a very catchy title.

After Karunanidhi’s new policy of tax exemption for films with Tamil titles, lyrics from old songs from MGR classics seems to be the flavour of the season. Recently Gautham Menon had picked Pachaikili Muthucharam a popular MGR song as title for his new film.

Now Bharathan has taken Azhagiya Tamizh Magal from MGR’s Rickshawkaran, changed the gender and made it Azhagiya Tamizh Magan to suit Ilayathalapathi’s image!

According to Appachan, the shoot of this love story with action and sentiments will start from December and will release for summer 2007. It will have music by A.R.Rahman and Shreya is likely to be the heroine.

Yes. It has been a long time since ARR composed for a movie with South Tamilnadu Backdrop. I think Taj Mahal was the last one. When ARR was able to render a 'Tirupaachi Aruvaala...' for the ugly Manoj, he will definitely provide with some chartbusters for our own "Azhagiya Tamizh Magan"

i am waiting for the official announcement since i want to see the name of Isaipuyal with Ilaiyathalapathy. Incidentally their previous project's director Azhagam perumal is my cousin. I was waiting for the release of Udhaya for a whole lot of years. But only after watching the movie, i understood that it was'nt worth waiting. Even before the release of the audio, i had heard three songs from the movie. Tiruvallikeni, Udhaya udhaya and enna enna. i thought they were going to be huge hits. but the delay in the release of the audio and movie spoilt everything. Appachan has a good track record as most of his movies are blockbusters. no idea about bharathan though.

Azhagiya Tamil Magan 'Pooja' - Tentative OCT 20th


We were the first to announce that Vijay would be doing Azhagiya Tamil Magan after completing Pokkiri. Now, we bring to you exclusive information about the pooja date for Azhagiya Tamil Magan which has music by AR Rahman and directed by Barathan.The heroine of the movie would be Shreya Saran (the heroine of Rajini Sir's current Shivaji)

The pooja for the movie is tentatively scheduled to be held on the October 20th at either AR Rahman's studio or at AVM studios. The movie is expected to kick off with a song recording.

The date is however subject to change according to the availability of the people concerned like Vijay, Rahman and others. However, we have accquired this news from the officials themselves. We are not responsible if the date gets postponed to a later date!

Vijay himself is a huge fan of ARR. long back, in an interview he had expressed his desire to work with thalaivar. Even he signed udhaya for the reason that ARR was associated with it. But aftermath due to his desire to act in typical masala, rajini formula films he opted for MDs like Deva, Srikanth Deva, Mani Sarma, Vidya sagar, etc. But now he, being a hot cake in the industry, shud have decided to work with some big guns in the industry. Rumours said that recently he had talks with A.R. Murugadoss, Gowtham, Selva & Co. So i believe hereafter we can see ARR in Vijay movies often.

Vijay and Rehman join forces

After Udhaya, Vijay and A R Rehman would come together again for movie early next year.

Vijay is busy shooting for his Telugu remake movie Pokiri. Meanwhile he’s made plans for his next venture, Azhagiya Thamizhmagan.

It is reported that this movie directed by Bharathan (once assistant director of Dharani) will start rolling from Pongal.

Appachan of Navodaya films, who produced the Vijay starrer Friends, will produce this movie also.

The highlight of the movie will be A.R.Rahman’s music. This movie is expected to be a good commercial entertainer packed with laughs.

In fact the trend of placing a kuthu song just before the climax of the movie was effectively introduced by ARR-Shankar combo in the film 'Mudhalvan', which then became an essential ingredient in every movie. So Vijay & co need'nt worry about that. ARR will provide the exact music that hte fim deserves...

The title and heroine of Vijay’s next film after ‘Pokkiri’ has been decided! The film will be produced by Appachan, the producer of ‘Friends.’ The story was narrated by Bharathan (Dharani’s assistant) before ‘Pokkiri’ was finalized.

Titled ‘Azhagiya Thamizh Magan,’ the film is to be as cute as the title suggests. AR Rehman has been approached for music composition.
