Why should the producer compensate? Profit and loss is a common thing in business. When a film has a good run, no distributor pays back the money he earned over the buying price to the producer or actor. Then on what moral grounds, does he ask for a compensation? If he feels a film is overpriced, he shouldn't have bought the film. When there are no buyers, the producers will automatically reduce the rate. You buy the film at higher rates because you know the star's potential and when u incur an occasional loss, u ask for compensation? Good.

    True. Agree with u.
If getting componsated becomes a norm, then anyone can invest and this will be the safest business.
If movie clicks, you make profit. If it flops, no loss for u!!!
    This is crap !!
Best of luck - dear Tamil Film Industry ! ! !

Kamal has contributed to improving the taste of general movie going public than any other artist of his era. Only when a big star like his give Mahanadhi, Guna, Anbesivam, Sagara Sangamam, Swathi Muthyam, Pushpak etc., it gets the wider audience. Even in commercial cinema, Apoorva sagodharargal, MMKR pushed the envelope...

Just take the first half of Nineties:

    MMKR
    Thevar Magan
    Kurudhipunal
    Sathileelavathi
    Mahanadhi
    Indian
    Avvai Shanmugi

Sheer class as an actor, writer and producer
