" I dont know the real collection #" is what AMR says but what SKT says to Sridevi in an open-letter is really a tragic story!
This is a very big world!

    Sunday Update : #Anarkali & #AmarAkbarAntony doing well ! #ENM gud & #Vedalam Abv Avg ! #Thoongavanam poor !///

It seems to me lately Kerala audience taste is no different from Tamil audience taste. Whatever movies succeed in TN, do run successfully in KL as well!

true for successful, mass films featuring big stars.
but the "new-wave" films with the second-third rung stars don't even get a decent release, even if they do really well in TN.
about taste, the big difference is that the audience here have started to view Tamil films based on what they 'perceive' as Tamil films. the theatre-going viewer, generally, doesn't look for solid themes or out-of-the-box treatment in Tamil films. when he's in to watch a Tamil film, most of the time, he's out there to just have a good time.
    that, perhaps, explains the shift.

This has always been the situation. And that is why Kamal movies like Vikram, Kakki Sattai, SKV etc used to become block busters and he was almost on par with Mammootty and Lal.. and much much ahead of all other Tamil stars put together.
So the shift did not happen for the audience. Rather Kamal shifted to a new (and better) dimension.
Best of luck - dear Tamil Film Industry ! ! !

Here, vedalam is doing better than TV with vedalam at no.3 and TV at no.7..Quite obvious the younger set of audience opted for vedalam as ajit was last seen in Feb 2015..compared to kamal who had 2 releases in 2015 before TV..I feel Kamal should not do too many films in a year..
WOM for both films is not that great..

strangely Prem Ratan is at no.9..not easy to see Hindi films in the chart..influx of foreigners maybe
Usurae Poguthey Usurae Poguthey..Othada Nee Konjam Suzhikayila
