Hmm....that's interesting! I knew of only places in Little India that served Indian food, plus one Mumtaz Mahal in Pasir Ris, only for N.Indian food.

There is one insanely expensive Jap restaurant in one of the star hotels. Apart from that I remember there was a Sushi restaurant that started in Nungambakkam High Road. Somewhere near Ispahani Centre. Was searching for it once and couldn't locate it.

Also add cheap. I am trying to avoid hotels in Chennai these days.
1 plain dosa - 30 - 40 Rs, oru karandi maavuku ivvalo rooba too much I say!
But what I am surprised is that the hotels in Chennai are always crowded. People are not bothered to spend!

Minerva, herndon VA - one of the best buffet places . Great deal for Non veg , their standard for veg varities is deeply perishing except for the awesome thakkali chutney ..they have cut down veg varities.
Weekends they do offer great menu
Worth 14 $ (i know its a bit expensive) but surely great one for bday party treats
Curry and Kabab , Herndon VA - Ask me i u'd get better biriyani (mutton , chicken , shrimp)than this place.. keeps u licking your fingers even after u finish the plate .. well tats never happened as they offer good quantity of biriyani ..
Chutney, Herndon VA - Hopelessssss ..well actually it depends..when the cook is in the good mood .. u r saved
But aprt from that ..their hot bajjis and bondas is something which is a savier.
