Hearty greetings to all our friends on this ‘makara sankranti’ festival.

Here is a composition by Shri Purandaradasaru. Shri Dasaru narrates that as he is truthful

I won't leave you even if YOU (common for all stranzas)

hide in water (nira pokkaru biDe), (Matsya)
carry (pottaru) heavy weight (bahu bhAra) on your back (benninoLage) (Kurma)
escape (kosarikoMDaru) with sharpening (maseyuta) you incisors (kOreya) (Varaha)
roaring (ghuDi ghuDisalu) with fearful (ghOra) appearance (rUpava tALi) (Narasimha)

in the form of beggar (tirukaneMdaru) (Vamana)
knowingly (tiLidu) separated (tarideneMdu) mother's (tAya) head (koraLa) (Parashurama)
going into the forest (kADa sEralu) to honour father's (pitana) word (vAkya) (Rama)
jumping (dhumukidaru) in to the pond (maDuvinali)
