Multiplexes are advancement of TECHNOLOGY, no doubt .... but will it affect the normal cinema trend ...
I feel that mulplx are really changing the way cinema is looked at .... earlier days, cinema was a costly affair and then in the mid days .... cinema became more cheaper coz of more movies and more theaters .... now digital stuffs have increased the factor of movies again !
so will mlpx have an impact on the existing theaters ?

screens mattum vishayam illai ..... the stereo, the cost of digitalizing the whole cinema stuff, then investing on the furniture to fit the world standards, also a theater cannot handle more than say 170 ppl ... so lot of things ...
only venture capitalists who are new could afford ... existing theater owners ... not everybody can afford !

it will have little impact on theatres like udayam, kasi etc... b'cos their audience cant afford the ticket rates in multiplexes.... but also movies like anbesivam will do well in multiplexes and since the ticket rate is very high, it will make more money... so, the balance will be there...

Multiplexes will make impact only in Major Cities that too among who are ready to pay more. The existing theatres wont get affected atleast for another 5 years.

yeah, thats why have VCs... to get the investment back soon, the ticket prices willl be high around the 150 rs mark.... but these days, we pay 150 or 200 rs in a B centre theatre like vetri or vidya to watch FDFS in black.. so athukku we can watch in multiplex for the same rate with higer quality...

Agreed aandavan ... but when u see a movie in multiplex, i really bet u will think again about seeing a movie in normal screens this is true ..... the mulpx is nothing but a private theater screen for u ..... there is a lot of difference when u see a movie in the theater and u see it on a multiplex !
n one more thing is that .... nowadays movies are taken based on the effects present in theaters ... so ellamae digitalize aayiduchunna ... indha theaters will be forced to change !

FDFS can be only for those previleged 170 ppl .... appuram enna .... ? my concern is about existing theater owners ... who may not afford to spend more on mulpx

let them change for the good... but inspite of changing, they have to maintain lower rates, to keep their audience within their grasps...
