First of all, most of the theatres do not switch on the a/c full time. They gradually switch it off once the movie starts. Also the parking rates of 2 & 4 wheelers are high. Plus they themsleves arrange persons to sell tickets in black.
So, I guess the theatres will not be affected in any way.
Maybe satyam & mayajal. But how many multiplexes we have here?

Sify has an article on this. mayajaal has to reduce the ticket rates to Rs.15 it seems. Sounds rubbish

The heat is on. The distributors of Pongal releases mainly-Aalwar, Pokiri and Thamarabharani has asked for a reduction in rates to their respective producers, following the government decision to slash admission rates.
A leading distributor/ production house who had taken Pokiri at a record price of Rs 4.50 crore for the lucrative NSC area, has now backed out of the deal. The distributor at that time had boasted that it was the highest ever price since Chandramukhi which was snapped for a record Rs 5.75 Crore for NSC area.
Similarly Aalwar, was given at Rs 2.75 , for NSC but now the distributor wants a price cut. The distributors are asking for a 30 to 50 percent price reduction, which the producers are not willing. It is simple- they cannot go back and claim a proportionate reimbursement from the stars for money already paid!
Actually the stars and technicians are raving about producers of both the films ,Ramesh Babu and Mohan Natrajan, for their prompt and correct payment In fact Ajit and Vijay are keen to give priority dates to these producers in future for their next ventures.
Meanwhile the Tamilnadu distributors association has called for an emergency meeting, to sort out the Pongal release payment problem with producers of the films. The crucial meeting which in a way will decide the fate of Pongal releases is to take place in Chennai on Thursday, Dec 28.

I dont think so. Shivaji and 10A's reach is not just for Tamil audiencs. Both Kamal and Rajini's movies does very well in Andhra if the movie is good/hit in Tamil.
In Banglore and Kerala too they have great fan following and their movies do well there too
There is no need for mentioning abt overseas market.
And 10A they would be releasing in Hindi too. So i dont think they will compromise on the quality of the movie at this point of time.
