ஆக, 'அரசி'யின் மகள்தான் 'செல்வி'. நேற்று விவரமாக சொல்லி விட்டார்கள். நேற்றைய சீனில் யோகேஸ்வரனாக வரும் ரவிக்குமார் அசத்தியிருந்தார். 'செல்வியில் கூட இப்படி நடிக்கவில்லை.

செல்வி தன் மகளாக இருந்தும் கூட அவளை தன்னோடு அழைத்துச்செல்ல முடியாது என்பதற்கு அரசி (செந்தமிழரசி) கூறும் காரணங்கள் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளக் கூடியதாகவே இருக்கிறது.

தனுஷ்கோடியிலுள்ள அந்த சிதிலமடைந்த சர்ச் (மாதாகோயில்) அருமையான லொக்கேஷன். நெஞ்சை அள்ளுகிறது.

Why is the name of the serial spelt in English as "Arase" (should be conventionally Arasi, right?).. Numerology???

Is it spelt as "Arase" on the title card before the credits? I can't see it because it is blocked by the Sun TV logo, but in Malaysia it is listed as Arasi in the programme guide.

Also, doesn't numerology deal with the number of alphabets, i.e. both Arasi and Arase contain 5 letters, maybe it should be Arasee?

That aside, here is a brief synthesis of Episodes 5 - 7 (I haven't watched Friday's episode yet on the Net)

Episode 5-7

Rameshwaram
Yogeswaran is forced to leave from the guesthouse where Arasi's family is staying. Arasi has no recognition of him and dismisses Yog as a lunatic on her husband's advice. But in the middle of the night, Yog somehow sneaks outside of the guesthouse and calls to Arasi thru the window. He tells her parents' names, her past life in Kandy, etc. to convince her and tells her to come to Thanushkodi the next day. Arasi is confused and decides to go to ...

Thanushkodi
Yog meets Arasi at the ruins and tells her how, when she was 18, she became pregnant and gave birth to an illegitimate daughter. Her mother lied to her that the baby was stillborn and Arasi moved on with her life, married Judge Karthikeyan, moved up the police ranks, all blissfully unaware of her past.

But, Yog now reveals, in fact her first child is still alive ... Yog had adopted the baby and passed her off as his first wife's child ... Selvi!

Arasi is sceptical but is convinced when Yog shows her Selvi, who is identical to her, from a distance. Arasi quickly recovers from her shock and tells Yog that, this has been a secret all this while, let it continue to be secret since Selvi does not know I am her real mother or that I am still alive.

Yog disagrees, saying it is time the truth is known, but Arasi takes him to her guesthouse, where her husband and children are in a panic over her disappearance. Arasi tells Yog, they all think of me as a respectable woman and if they know I have an illegitimate daughter, their world will be shattered. Arasi offers Yog money to keep this secret. Yog is disgusted and says this is just like her mother who had kept secret that Arasi's baby was alive. Yog assures her that she will change her mind about Selvi before their trip to Rameshwaram is over.

Meanwhile Andavarlingam shows up. Despite having left his home a broken man, he still has taste for vengeance and, believing GJ to be responsible for the murder of his beloved Kartha, he orders his henchman to kill him.

GJ approaches Yog and spins him a tale of how Selvi should live together with him as her husband and their 3 children. Yog is not convinced and tells him to stay away from Selvi. GJ, of course, isn't willing to do this until he gets hold of the incriminating letter.

Arasi meanwhile is disturbed by Yog's revelations but manages to hide the matter from her husband, the judge.
