I watched Mangaiyar Thilakam in 1955 when it was released. I was in the second year of college (known as Intermediate those days). The song I remember and sing is "Neela VaNNa KaNNa vaadaa". But the most moving song was " Nee varavilai enil aadharavedhu".






Hope the younger generation here likes it ! What do you think madhu?

vathiyarayya.... this song was the fav of my parents. ( Though as u said already neela vanna kanna was so popular )..
sathyam adhiga paadalgal paadavillai enru ninaikiren. But this one song is enough I feel...

That was very BEAUUUUTIFUL raj....seriously enjoyed it. I even googled to find out the raaga Its "dharbari kaanada" simply beautiful. Never heard of this song or the seen the movie. For the very first hearing it sounds divine and soulful. It reminds me of hindi tunes, may be it is a sequential copy of some hindi song of similar era. thankyou for sharing.
