I don't know. But there is an increase in this tendency. People are under the impression that S/W engineers earn just by going to office in the morning and returning back in the evening. They never understand the mental and psychological pressures of the people. Rather they only remember what they do outside (partying, boozing etc). Is that a reason for the guys to charge more rent to s/w people ? I heard chennai is trying to emulate Bangalore (Rent of a house in velachery has gone to 7k+ / month now. Two years back it was around 4K+ )

In Kodambakkam and T.Nagar, Rent for Single Bedroom is 6k.

My house owner increased the rent from 7500 to 11500 Just because I am S/W Engineer.
