My Dear Marthandan is undoubltly one of the best techno albums from Ilaiyaraja. This is one of best 'sound effect' albums including Manirathnam films such as Agni Natchathram.

This is a great album that should be appreciated better.
ilavattam, paakku vethala, uttalakkadi are all great songs.
The bit song "my dear Marthaanda" is also great (you can hear IR's voice singing the same line in different melodies in the different stereo channels)
My vote is for "Satham varaamal" - great intro, great interludes, great orchestrations throughout the song

i didn't even know this was the album of the week...just posted in last song thread that Oh Azhagu Nilavu is my fave...but i will listen to others...but I don't think I will change my mind...Aadutha Paar seems to be hijacked by chipmunks!

Ilavattam Kai Thattum...good use of drums!

My Dear...like the short short lyrics...keeps up well with the fast beat

Paaku Vethalai...keeps up with other happy songs with the foot-tapping beating...quite jazzy

Uttalakadi i like the very beginning spanish guitar...but still i think SPB's voice won me over so....
