"Ezhudhatha Sattangal" starred Sivaji Ganesan and Srividya. Wonder if this couple acted together in any film other than this and "Imayam". The song takes you back by decades. Typical 80s IR. One of the best songs of SPS.

Ezhuthatha sattangaL was a Malayalam remake with huge list of actors in the cast. I dont think Sivaji was Srividya's jodi in this movie. I remember Sarathbabu, Nambiar from the list.

madhu, yes, that might be it. You got the lyrics perfectly correct. Possibly Karthik Raja's first assignment as an independent MD, though Manikkam released first.
The song, in places, reminds of phrases from "Aagaya Gangai" from dharma yuddham

Usha, you are wecome. I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that SPS wanted to be like PS and imitated PS's style. Then SPB apparently advised her to develop her own style and identity. I don't know the song's ragam. RR, baroque or ragadevan should know.
