Went 2 Woodlands matinee show today. The theatre was barely housefull. But the confrontation scenes between Srikanth & Sivaji sir got many applause also twinkle twinkle ryhmes by sivaji sir got huge applause. Cho's comedy was also well recieved (hope u understand whom he mimicks) Also the print was just ok. But 4 next show it was a grand celebration showing camphor, breaking coconuts, huge garlands were put to sivaji's photos.

As usual it was a grand gala evening with all the paraphernalia attached to the celebrations [as ragul had mentioned above] were in place but there was something amiss [at least for me], may be the ambiance of Shanthi was the difference. Normally the celebrations and fun happenings have an added colour tone at Shanthi. The fact that last 4,5 movies were at Shanthi had impersonated the mind. Anyhow all traffic came to a stand still for quite some time and all heads travelling in vehicles to and fro from Royapettah turned sideways to catch the fun and for them it was always astonishment.

Now the celebrations inside the theatre were not in the scale that one sees regularly in Shanthi. People were more disciplined but every important scene was received with thunderous applause. As Ragul said print was ok without major cuts.

Watching the thespian perform, one thing that struck firmly was this man was made for acting and the nuances he exhibits are plenty to talk about. One scene which made my day was the one when he walks into the hall from dining room and having washed his hands and with a towel in his shoulders uses his tongue to clear something in his mouth [as we normally do] and seeing the security block Major from entering the house, gesticulates with his hand to send him in. What a body language!

One can go on writing about each and every scene and surely it should be one of Mahendran's best screenplays and dialogue that he wrote for films that he had not directed.
