    signing in problem

    Hello nga!

When I wanted to sign on.......there are two spaces one for "user name" the other "password".. (both words are light in color always) when I place my cursor to bring up my user name.....it doesnt pick up the user name..so i type it....but when i tabbed to the password space....& type my password...instead of showing as "bullets"...it is showing my password as I type..... i have to keep refreshing many times before it takes the password as "bullets".
Why is this happening? Is this a technical prob from your end or is it from my end...not able to figure out.
Is it because I am reaching the hub from a bookmark?
    plz do help..!!
    Thank you..............regards.............s

    suvai,

    * What's your browser, OS (win xp/windows 7/linux)
    * Is this problem repeatable? Or happens randomly?
    * Have you tried from any pc/workstation, and faced the same problem?

Quick workaround is: Simply click login, then the login will fail but you'll be prompted to login from a different form. Here it should work fine.

I do experience the same issue.
The problem is in xp and only one time. ( may be glitch ?)
I did close the browser( Firefox)- reopen
    this time it works fine.

    - I did try windows 7/ IE8 - no issue -

    Dear RR,

Is it possible that the system remembers my user id and password permanently, I mean in my personal system? Like Yahoo or Gmail. During signing, two options can be given whether its a public or private system. If Private is chosen the system should remember the user id and password and should keep me in online even if I restart it.

If you select 'Remember password', your system should keep you permanently logged-in. I hear that it doesn't work for some. The reasons are more to do with your personal browser cookie settings than the forum settings. I can only suggest you get help from your knowledgeable friends - if you can't fix it yourself. However, it's advisable NOT to keep your account permanently logged in for security reasons. If anyone else has access to your PC/workstation, your account can get hacked. Pls keep it in mind before you use 'Remember me'.

BTW, we don't have a public/private option. If the vbulletin supports it in future versions, we'll definitely offer it.

Right now works only in Lite view. For other pages, we are still upgrading.

This happens all the time with me on Google Chrome. Whenever I type a message and hit Post Quick Reply I am signed out. I have to sign back in and most of the time, the message is posted immediately. But sometimes I need to type the message again.

And for forums like Current Affairs where you need to login to read, whenever I click on the next page, it signs me out.. And its been happening for the past 2-3 weeks..

    I thought its just me
