The grapevine has been abuzz that Rajinikanth`s Kochadaiyaan which was scheduled to release on his birthday Dec 12, has been postponed to Pongal 2013.

Earlier there was a lot of excitement as this year his birthday falls on 12-12-12, supposed to be a very rare and lucky date.

The animation film with lot of special effects got delayed due to post-production work. It has Rajinikanth, Deepika, Jackie Shroff and Sarathkumar in important roles and is directed by Soundarya R Ashwin.

The audio which has music by AR Rahman was to be launched in Japan by October end but now it looks like, it will be delayed.
