Urvashi promises magnificent comedy in 'Uthama Villain'
Kamal does not stop himself with finding talents alone, he keeps them with him for a long time and make use of them as and when time/project permits. Urvashi is one the favourite actor of Kamalhassan and they have acted together in Michael Madana Kamarajan, Andha Oru Nimidam, Magalir Mattum and Panchathanthiram. Urvashi is an integral part of Kamal's forthcoming release and she threw some beans about her character in a recent interaction with media.
I play Kamal's wife in the movie and there are lot of scenes in the movie which will bring the roof down. Kamal & I do not indulge in comedy scenes but the other leads does have lot of scope to perform funny sequences. My character's name is Varalakshmi and all I can say is, I'm very thankful to Kamal for giving me an opportunity to work with him once again. Meanwhile, the shooting of 'Uthama Villain' is completed and post production are in full swing. The movie is expected to hit the screens by September.

I am worried about this kind of image is being built by the news websites branding Uttama Villain as a comedy film. Already many people started saying this film will be like MMA... This will not do good for the film. From the beginning KH and RA trying to say this film as a feel good entertainer.

There is no harm if it is a laughing riot. But should not project in that way if it is really some other genre

from the feedback received till now (esply urvashi article above) uv is definitely not a serious film. it seems to be a lighter vein movie with good story value interwoven with comedy..may be

KS Ravikumar isn't involved to say this is 5thanthiram sequel in ship-nu like he told for MMA release time. Even with KH correcting media by telling it's a romantic drama, still people hyped it thinking it was a sequel or same genre. I heard KH wasn't pleased with KSR bringing Udhay Stalin [Aadhavan effect] on board for MMA as Stalin demanded more comedy in the second half. This led to bitter relations with KSR I guess.
I'm reading more and more it's a dramedy, but I'll wait for promos to judge.
