Whoever said Tamil actors were all about flab and hanging bellies just have to see actor Suriya now. The actor, who is now working with Gautham Menon on Vaaranam Aayiram, has worked hard on his look and developed a six pack abdomen.

One of the requirements of the script was that he had a well toned body. In Vaaranam Aayiram, Suriya’s screen age spans from 17 to 65 years.

What is now a visibly toned body required the actor to work out rigorously for eight months under the strict supervision of a skilled trainer. The result of that is a leaner, muscular Suriya, all set to send his fans into a tizzy.

The first hero in Kollywood to train hard and achieve the elusive six pack abs, Suriya reveals, "It was the character and the script which inspired me to work towards achieving this lean, muscular look and a six pack. I felt It would lend more credibility to the character I am playing."
