Hmm After a long time this thread is active. Every one seem to have forgotten the movie "engO keata Kural" , Excellent acting by Rajni esp in the Pot belly and wonky teeth get up ! But some how this film has been forgotten by many!

IIRC This movie had both Radha and Ambika in the lead

Dharmaththin Thalaivan on Raj. Couple of not-so-often quoted Rajini lines:

After that hilarious vEshtiless dog chase, comes back home, wears the vEshti. And while going out- "ippO andha naai epdi varudhunnu paakkalaam"

veLLaippuRA drawing scene. Bird in his stretched arm. Says, "ayyO", Suhasini goes "ammA! enna aachu?". "Ennadhu ammaavaa", lifts the arm a little, trying to look at the bird's bottom - "ammavaa? onnum puriyalai"

So typical of the Rajini of that time. They don't make scenes like this for him anymore

And Prabu was superb too. Excellent chemistry. And as always, annan VKR

yeah..the professor Rajini was lovable remember the naai scene very well.vaguely remember the other one.. time to revisit.... "maama.. Sudha(?) paarthuttangala?" "athaan oore paarthuchilla.. Sudha paartha enna paarkaatti enna?"

His non-pambu, non-slapstick humour is sometimes hilarious. Especially when he gives in to the fiery cynic inside him and gets sarcastic or contemptuous. Sadly, the bleachification as superstar has robbed us of these moments, the overthetop whoistheblacksgeep notwithstanding. One such moment is in Uzhaippali - Vivek, Rajini, Vijayakumar(rajini's akka purushan) and other friends are discussing who is going to impersonate as Vivek's father in his wedding(eventually as you know Rajini takes up the task). But as they are discussing, Vivek finally stumbles on the idea of using Rajini for the role and says "ennoda appa kedaichachu. Avar inge dhaan irukkar". Immediately, Rajini gives a dirty look to Vijayakumar - I am sure that is not in the script.

Annan's enconter with SS in the wedding scene was more Hilarious, esp the bit where Rajni describes about ladies like kushboo, Silks etc , and the scenes with half moustache!
