The change of religion is not there in the original and Matt Damon is shown as a weird guy who stammers.
Just finished watching The Talented Mr. Ripley (TTMR). The "indentity theft" + major characters have been sucked into Naan. But Naan choose to have a different story construction.
TTMR : Jude and Matt don't have a sexual relationship eventhough Ripley is a gay. Jude just provokes him in the lines of teasing him but Matt mis-interprets it to have attracted Dickie.
Eventhough Naan is a good movie, it still misses the variation that TTMR brought out. On the other hand, everyone around Ripley were not all "talented", but Naan was a bit belivable. TTMR celeverly puts the film in 1950s Italy so less questions are asked on the investigation as FBI is not involved...LoL, but Naan was bold enough to face it in the current time.
Thanks Hattori Hanzo for pointing it out.
