Well done again!
In translating ancient Tamil literature, Sanskritists made a messy job. You have pointed out some. Several instances were pointed out by the learned Mayilai Seeni Vengkatasamy too. I remember: "Ezil malai" being wrongly read as "eli malai", the translator eventually concluding that those living on the relevant mountains belonged to muushika (mouse) jati!! But they threw away the originals after translating, making the translations look like originals.
So much for the scholarship of the translators. Little did they worry that they were putting out unintelligible garbage,
What is hidden is hidden to be revealed.
