    Answers:

    1.
    Kamal - Nayagan
    Rajini - Thee

    2.
    Kamal - Varadharaja Mudhaliar
    Rajini - <suththi vaLaichu> Haji Mastan

    From wiki:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varadarajan_Mudaliar

Varadarajan started as a porter in Bombay's Victoria Terminus Station in the 1960s. His emergence in the underworld was largely through bootlegging and matka operations. Later, he diversified into contract killings, smuggling and dock thefts. He ruled the underworld well in to the 1980s. In the 1980s, he almost ran a parallel judiciary system, dispensing justice within his community. Varadarajan Mudaliar came into light after the reign of Karim Lala. At that time, Karim Lala, Varadarajan and Haji Mastan were the trio that ruled the Bombay underworld.

    Born March 1, 1926(1926-03-01)
    Panaikulam, Tamil Nadu, India

Haji Mastan Mirza popularly known as Haji Mastan or Bawa was a Bombay (Mumbai) gangster and smuggler in the 1960s and 1970s. Mastan became the first celebrity gangster of the city, expanding his clout in the Indian film industry.

Mastan Haider Mirza was born on 1 March 1926 into a farmer’s family in Panaikulam, a small village 20 km from Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu.

In 1944, Mastan joined the Bombay docks as a coolie. His job was to unload huge boxes and containers of ships coming from Aden, Hong Kong and other countries .

He was a lonely man and had few but staunch friends. No wonder that when don Vardabhai (Varadarajan Mudaliar) died in Madras, Mastan chartered an Indian Airlines plane and brought his friend's body to Mumbai for last rites as was wished by Vardabhai.

< here comes Rajini's part> Deewaar - a well recognized film in Hindi crime genre - is based on the life of Haji Mastan. The protagonist in the film, played by Amitabh Bachchan survives as long as he wears a plate with the number 786, dies at the hands of his honest brother. To give the role authenticity, Amitabh Bachchan reportedly met Haji Mastan to study his mannerisms.

y suththi vazhaichu -- because of Amitabh

    answer for the clue:

Both Nayagan & Thee had similar dialogues.. avana nirutha sollu - nan nirutharen... everyone knows Nayagan

In Thee, Rajini says this to his brother referring to "appan oru thirudan" (in his hand) & couple more, same like Nayagan
