sizeable crowd in cinema but movie playing only one show in one cinema
looks and feels like an art movie with a very very slow start
up to interval, you don't know what is the story about
after that, the thread is woven and soon we realise how its going to end

good acting from everyone, known or unknown. all family (read serial) sentiments are there.
kudos to thangar bachan for weaving the story cleverly.. it moves from present to past, forward backward, often, but his skill makes sure that we do not lose the thread.
he also gets some kilukiluppu with his heroine.

contrary to what you have read, the mobile phone is not the main story..

    PLOT:

Ranganayagi has nine children, but favours her youngest son Annamalai (Shanthanu). Framed for a crime he is not responsible for, the mother forbids him from returning to his home until he has proven himself to the other children.
Annamalai goes to work in a leather factory before landing himself with a quarry owner. There he meets Prasad (TB) who steals in his sleep. The current manager of the quarry would have been siphoning away the money and implores Annamalai to do the same. Annamalai pretends to do so, but reveals the plot to his boss.
The manager and Prasad then plot to get back at Annamalai, who is now ready to go back to his village and meet his mother. What happens next forms the 2nd half of the story.
Never argue with a fool or he will drag you down to his level and beat you at it through sheer experience!
