The problem I found in KRV's acting is that she has a fixed way of acting when it comes to heavily emotional scenes. For e.g: We can compare the last scence in Iru Malargal when KRV tries to commit suicide with the scene when Srikanth wanted to leave the house and KRV tries to stop him in 'Thanga pathakkam'.

Sowkar's Pudhiya paravai- It fell on her lap. There were more capable takers at that point of time and she was lucky.
motor sundaram pillai,Paar magale paar- There were other better choices.

Pair- It doesn't mean only heroines.
    Thanks Gopal Sir.

Sowcar:- Yes, for Pudhiya Paravai, it was NT who spotted her talent and asked her to play that negative role even though Sowcar hesitated initially. However, we are only talking on performances and hence, Sowcar did the best. In fact, this prompted MGR to cast in similar role in "Panam Padaithavan" in 1965, which went against. Sowcar quickly realized and avoided getting typecast again. I indicated Motor Sundaram Pillai only and not Paar Magalae Paar. In Motor Sundaram Pillai, she really camp up with a controlled performance given, the limited scope. For that ageing role, no one could be imagined at that period of time.

Aalam / CID Sakunthala:- You cannot say they are pairs cos they came only in songs and if that has to be discussed, the list would be endless and may not be worthwhile too. My intention in writing about your magnanimity was to tell that we need not glorify every one here!

    Regards,

And of course the heart wrenching last scene. It is one of those movies where casting was fantastic and every one did their roles very perfectly.
I have to mention Pushpalatha's acting in this movie too. She acted in many movies (and with NT too) but nothing stand out as much as her role in Kai kodutha Deivam. She was beautiful and talented but was unlucky I guess, to get good roles in which she could've done better than some of the then heriones. As a concerned sister to a woman who has a mind of a child (probably personality disorder!) when the possible groom comes to see her sister, she was so desperate to get things work for them that time after so many failed attempts to get her a man. She plays the character very beautifully. And guess what?, at the end of the movie, having emotionally involved too much, I couldn't help myself thinking (in an illusional way) 'she is dead, ok, it is sad, but he should marry the younger sister whom would be his perfect match!!!

    Mr Parthasarathy,
I personally think while we glorify NT, it is not too inappropriate to mention the co-artists in NT movies for a comedic purposes/or comic relief (as long as we do not demean NT in any possible way) which would lighten the serious acting/movie issues we discuss here. That doesn't mean we have to demoralise the certain artists either. Just for laugh, that's all.

Haa! Now, I also get into this net. I normally don't get into such controversies. When I say let's not glorify, I also don't demoralise them. The topic is "paring" and that's why. For me, every single Artiste is a human being. We are only discussing the performances of Pairs and that's why I indicated that.

Now that I realised, I will never get into any more controversies and will write only about NT. Once bitten twice shy!

    Regards,

    R. Parthasarathy

The only factor that bothered us was the date of release of VPKB which is 16.05.1959 and not any of the option given. Otherwise it's ok.
