The film provides great scope for sequels. I watched the tv series '24'. The hero is a member of Counter Terrorism Unit. Quite similar to the DIA. They have made nearly 200 episodes of non stop action. ARM can surely pull out a leaf or two from the tv series and can make Thuppaki a franchise.

The real challenge in Tuppaki franchise is it needs to surpass Tuppakki 2012.

The
100 crore club in Bollywood is going strong with movies repeatedly
crossing the mark each festive season and even otherwise. The trend,
that started with Ghajini, has seen numerous films like 3 idiots,
Dabangg, Housefull, Ready and more hit the bull’s eye. Now it looks like
the trend may have started in Kollywood with Thuppakki.
This
Pongal turned sweet for Vijay as he is the second person, after
Superstar Rajinikanth, to join the 100 crore club. As the trade is
buzzing with this news, the actor is happy too. Says Vijay, “I never
look at numbers but my producer and distributors kept updating me on how
well the movie was doing and its collections. I am very happy that it
crossed the
100 crore mark. This will set the ball rolling for
other films in the industry and the movie business here will boom for
sure.”
With this flick, director A R Murugadoss becomes the
first-ever Kollywood director to enter the 100 crore league in Bollywood
and Kollywood. Ask
him if he knew the movie would do well and he says, “At the beginning
of the film itself, we had decided it should be a flick that appeals to
both mass and class and that it should be the highest grossing Vijay
film. Luckily the festival season also helped us. Since the audience’s
expectations were fulfilled, the movie crossed a 100 crore.”
The
producer, Kalaipuli Thanu, says about his movie’s collections,
“Thuppakki crossed 100 crore in the first two weeks of the worldwide
release of the film. Exhibitors called to tell me that they earned in
just a few days what they would have earned in a year with this film.
After MGR and Rajinikanth, it is a Vijay film that makes us happy. He
ensured that everyone benefited from the film’s success.”
Murugadoss
is currently remaking the film in Hindi with Akshay Kumar and as for
expectations from that flick, he smiles and says, “Ghajini and Thuppakki
were the first to enter the
100 crore club in Bollywood and Kollywood respectively. Now my target is 200 crore with this Akshay Kumar film.”
Ilayathalapathy's true reach and potential is evident with Thuppakki!!!!
Vijay in a good creator's hand can weave ultra-magic on the silverscreen....
Thanks ARM!

VIJAY JOINS THE ELITE 100 CRORE CLUB
http://www.cinemalead.com/news-id-vi...ieecoA.twitter
Ilayathalapathy Vijay has entered the elite 100 crore club with his Thuppakki film. Vijay is the second person after Rajinikanth to join the club. Vijay is happy about this and hopes that this will pave way for more films to follow suit.
Another highlight is that AR Murugadoss is the only director from Tamil to enter 100 crore league in Kollywood and Bollywood. In Bollywood, his Ghajini with Ameer Khan has clocked more than 100 crores at the box office.
The director is now busy shooting for the remake of Thuppakki with Akshay Kumar in the lead and he says that he wants his Hindi version to enter the 200 crore club.
Cinemalead wishes the team Thuppakki on its prestigious achievement.

Two big names from the Tamil and Malayalam industries will come together for a Tamil film — Jilla, directed by first-timer Nesan, will feature actors Vijay and Mohanlal. The lead also includes Kajal Agarwal, and the film is produced by Super Good Films. Meanwhile, actor Vijay as well as A.R. Murugadoss are thrilled — their film Thuppakki has crossed the Rs. 100-crore mark. Murugadoss is the only director to have touched the magic figure in both Hindi and Tamil (Gajini in Hindi).

Thuppaki reaches 100 crore mark!
Not many films released in Kollywood make a record, some don’t even make an impression. But not “Thuppaki“.
This very stylish film of Vijay, Kajal Agarwal and Vidyut Jamwal and directed by AR Murugadoss has gone beyond being a mega hit by reaching 100 crores in collection!! AR Murugadoss is the first director to reach this mark in both Kollywood and Bollywood. Kudos to the genius! In Bollywood it was “Ghajini” and now its “Thuppaki” in Kollywood. “At the beginning of the film itself, we had decided it should be a flick that appeals to both mass and class and that it should be the highest grossing Vijay film. Luckily the festival season also helped us. Since the audience’s expectations were fulfilled, the movie crossed a 100 crore.” said the director.
The very satisfied producer, Kalaipuli S Dhanu said, “Thuppaki crossed 100 crore in the first two weeks of the worldwide release of the film. Exhibitors called to tell me that they earned in just a few days what they would have earned in a year with this film. After MGR and Rajnikanth, it is a Vijay film that makes us happy. He ensured that everyone benefited from the film’s success.”
AR Murugadoss is making a Hindi film with Akshay Kumar now and when asked about this he said with a smile, “Ghajini and Thuppaki were the first to enter the 100 crore club in Bollywood and Kollywood respectively. Now my target is 200 crore with this Akshay Kumar film.” We wish him all the best for that!

World popular cinema site IMDB rates Hollywood, Bollywood, Kollywood and all other films made across the globe. The ratings by IMDB are considered to be fair and just and this site never ranks any film high without proper credibility.Earlier, IMDB had rated Kamal Haasan’s Nayagan and Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots 8.3 on the scale of 10. This is the highest ranking given for Indian films thus far and now Vijay’s Thuppaki has joined the list.Yes, IMDB has rated Thuppaki 8.3 indicating that it is a must watch entertainer. Well, it is one more reason the Ilayathalapathy’s fans to rejoice!

Behindwoods : Vijay's Thuppakki ... 75 and still going steady
Today is the 75th day of Vijay’s Thuppakki, directed by A.R.Murugadoss. * The movie released for Diwali and won the uniform appreciation of the masses and classes alike. It turned out to be 2012’s biggest grosser and also became one of Tamil cinema’s top grossers ever.
Today being Republic Day, it has turned out to be an apt occasion for Thuppakki to celebrate its 75th day across a few centers in the state. Being a movie which showed the armed forces in great light, Thuppakki is a fitting Republic Day’s treat.
