Kugan, happy to see you back but extremely sorry about your loss. Felt so terrible on seeing the photo. Only God can give strength to you and your family at this time.

RAVA SYRUP CAKE (Yamini )
OK friends, let me start with a sweet.
I had this in a friend's house, while I was away, something like keseri, but not keseri
She kindly gave me the recipe. Kugan
RAVA SYRUP CAKE
Ingredients:
(A)
2 ½ cups rava
½ cup all purpose flour
1 ½ tbs baking powder
1 tbs icing sugar
½ cup grated fresh coconut
¼ cup roasted chopped cashew nuts or pistachio.
1 cup melted butter
3/4 cup of well beaten fresh curds
1 tsp rose essence
1 ½ cups sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp rose essence
Method:
Preheat the oven to 150 degrees C.
Grease a 8 inch cake tin.
In a bowl mix well all the ingredients in (A).
Now add in the butter, curds and essence.
Mix well and bring every thing together.
Now place the dough inside the greased tin.
Press it to level the surface.
Use a knife and cut it into neat squares.
Bake for about 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Meanwhile boil the 1 ½ cups of sugar with the essence.
Let it boil for about 3 minutes.
Remove the rava cake from the oven.
Pour the hot boiling syrup on the hot cake, set it aside.
The cake will slowly absorb the syrup. Let it cool.
Cut along the lines, remove and serve.
