    Himmatwala (2013)
Official Remake of 1983 movie with the same title (*Jitendra & Sridevi)
    Everything by Sajid Khan

Starring : Ajay Devgan, Tamanna, Paresh Rawal, Mahesh Manjrekar, a mother, a sister, few villagers & spl appearence : Tiger

Ravi comes to his birth village after "so many years" and meets his mom and sister. Flashback reveals that an Evil man Sher Singh has done so many not-to-do things that Ravi's family got seperated. United now (father missing as he is dead cos of Sher Singh), Ravi deceides to take revenge. But Sher Singh plots to get Ravi's Sister married to his criminal minded assistance's son, so that he can keep a check on Ravi. Ravi counter plots by making Sher Singh's daughter fall in love with him. When these things are happening, suddenly Ravi's real identity is known. Who is Ravi and why he has come to this village ? Will he fight for the villagers and bring justice to the land by taking Sher Khan down forms the rest of the story.

First thing first : Its purely a well informed outdated story movie. Its not a spoof, even though some dialouges may make you think so. But that does not mean that the movie is tolerable, leave alone watchable. The humour is like its addressed to a 4 year old kid, and evokes everything but laughter. Ajay Devgan is stiff and tries to be serious, but he fails to be funny too. The 2 villans are clowns. Just like in the telugu movies where the villans cry like babies before the hero in the end, in this movie they cry from the begining. The other casts have not taken in what to do, so even though the suituation is made to be funny, the end product is dull.

Tamanna : Beauty at its best. She is pretty and does a bit more than usual in 3 song sequences she gets. But still she sticks to no-lip-touch dialogue delivery. And she gets 10 lines of dialogues, 3 songs + 15 minutes screen presence. And in that 15 minutes, she dresses like a vamp & in mini-skirts, lets loose a tiger in the village, reads books, eats mangoes and tries hard to fool her dad. A lot in asking. But one thing is for sure, she should have given some stomach churning to the existing bolly actress, atleast to the ones who left there from here. She is gorgeous.

Still not everything is lost. There are few dialogues and scenes in the movie that are funny. For eg: the dialogue with the tiger. But whether people would understand or appreciate it is a big doubt.

Highly predictable, recording in film-medium what many underwent etc.
Many many only Bala possible moments. Impressive and grand.
Nearly nothing is novel 'on paper' but the level of intensity with which it is recorded is quite unprecedented. adhukkAgavE oru thadavai pArkkalAm

i did not see much of bala possible moments... either he is losing it or its the influence of his new story writer...

i felt the screenplay went a bit shody with the doctors arrival and the song sequence... also, the repeated annual appraisal...
i was only wondering if u would talk a few words about the screenplay... but thank you nyaayamaarae!!!!!

TZP is quite manipulative (doesn't mean it's bad). Haridas didn't try to make the audience sympathize with the kid and rather focuessed on the dad and his troubles. Other than Parotta Suri's comedy track, the film is a good watcj.
