why not? You get into the chess circuit of any small town, let alone a city, you will get to know the influence of Vishwanathan anand..he is so so influencial even at the grass root level.

Weird list, but we have a look at the "Yenenil" reasons listed for the other celebs too to understand the criteria. If it includes the single most influential person in his/her respective field, Anand certainly deserves a place. But if their 'Influence' means "Neenga um-nu sollunga thaliva, unga pinnaadi 1000 per varrom" kind, he doesn't.
